Bottle: Poured a reddish/copper color ale with no head. Aroma is dominated by strong funky ester notes with some tart cherry notes. Taste is also dominated by strong wild and funky ester with some tart cherry notes and some acidic notes are also perceptible. Body is about average with some very light carbonation. A little but too intense with balance in flavours lacking.

Corked and caged 375ml bottle poured into a stemmed wine glass.
A: The first half of the bottle pours beautifully clear pinkish red with a small foamy white head; the second half of bottle makes the glass cloudy, as expected.
S: Pretty big Brett funk and fruity sourness, cherry and lemon, but also some sweet oaky barrel character.
T: Acidic, sour, and tart, with oaky tannins and a mild fruity sweetness. Puckering. Lacto, Brett funk, lemon, cherry.
MF: Nice light body with light carbonation and that mouth-watering puckering sourness.
O: I thought this was very solid. Puckering, sour, with lots of funky Wild Ale character.

another gorgeous and fairly priced cork and cage wild brew from these guys, ive been trying to get one each week, and this really does drink like good mature kriek. bright ruby red through most of the bottle and quite clear under a short and dissipating whitish pink head, some sediment towards the bottom of the bottle clouds it up a bit as i pour a little too aggressively, sparkling with carbonation even though the head is temporary. it smells quite acidic, maybe less than the golden raspberry one i had last week, but there is a real sharp bacterial pucker here, makes my mouth water, and the cherry is natural and bold in here, more tart than sweet, oak tannins too, a light red wine vibe, some serious wild funky character as well. all of this is there in the flavor, the cherry is strong but never sweet, not a whole lot from the grain here so the fruit really pops, subtle fresh flowers, vanilla, and red wine vinegar through this as well, even a raspberry hint somehow. very mature, dried out, sour, and well made, great value here too for what it is. good enough to have come from belgium, although of course the fermentation profile is different, its in the range though, and its awesome. a little too sour to drink more than a glass of, but downright delicious.

Had it on tap at E9 on Zwanze day.
Pours a somewhat muted reddish-purple. Not much head. Tart with moderate cherry flavor, a little bit of fruit skin bitterness, a fair amount of funk.
