gorgeous brew, they call it a belgian pale, but its bretty and funky yet still so bright and fresh and alive, a nice mix of styles here, well refined, and a really nice one from these guys. the cork comes off even before i twist the cage all the way, but it doesnt gush, just launches across the room without even the faintest assist, this one is ready to drink! a very lively pour, high rising white head, a mostly clear golden brew with increasingly more sediment as we work towards the bottom of the bottle. aroma of belgian yeast esters, clean pear and chardonnay notes, saltwater taffy from the fair, funky brett but no wood with it, the usual vector, and a cool hoppiness that has held up well, however long this has been in the bottle. the fizz tickles my nose as i inhale it, very active. it tastes as good as it smells, even better really, but a little understated, a belgian beer first, a wild one second, but with great brett drie or lambicus type maturity to it in the latter stages. white wine for sure, green apple, apricot, dandelion, and rock candy. not all the way dry, but not malty in any way either, seems like a mostly pils type base. i love this kind of beer, so alive and drinkable, fun to share, fancy feeling, and delicate but not too much so that it didnt work perfectly with smoked chicken wings. loved this one, glad i picked it up! good hop bitterness at the end, i have been impressed with these guys so far...

Clear amber brew, just a slight haze on the second pour, and adequate foam in the Orval chalice. Bubbles explode on the tongue. Aroma of warm cereal. Taste is quite robust, more of a Tripel. Dried pears and Cream of Wheat taste but there is a sharp edge.
Finish is yeasty and dry, with a bitter twang in the aftertaste. Quite powerfully flavored and would not be mistaken for any kind of "Belgian Blonde." But the brewer calls it a "Belgian inspired pale ale." From the corked and caged 750 ml bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station.
