Had this on tap at Popeye's in Ryogoku, Tokyo. Light cherry red appearance with a small creamy head, bubbly like champagne from the bottom. Smell and taste of strong hops and a hint of what i'm guessing is cherry to match the hue. 12% comes through cleanly without much of a punch, in fact. Overall, this was a great sipping barleywine and one that I would definitely try again if I find it.

Sampled on tap at Popeye in Tokyo. This might be also called "Nine Tailed Fox Barley Wine".

This barley wine poured a clear, amber color with thick, rich, off-white (slightly amber) foam that left lace on the glass. The smell was mild, sweet malt. The taste was sweet and malty, with alcohol, oak, and tangy floral hops coming through. The mouthfeel was smooth and dry with a hoppy finish and aftertaste. The body was medium but this ale was light on the tongue. This was a very good barley wine, very fine for sipping.
