This beer was fittingly on sale at the brewery. Chestnut with a thin, yet lingering head. Spices def pop in the aroma, with nutmeg the most distinct. Smells malty with some candied orange peel (no mention that any was thrown in, though). Spices are certainly the first thing noticed in the flavor-cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and especially ginger. At first a bit over the top, but I've acclimated and appreciate the dried fruit and dark caramel. A little cloying, but the finish is drier. Towards the end of the bomber, clove steps forward with a little harsh bitterness, but overall, I liked this one enough on a cool and rainy spring evening.

Nice, fairly clear reddish brown with a nice white-ish head. Decent lacing in my pour.

Nose is amazing winter warmer sprices. Nutmeg and cloves I think more than cinnamon for a change. Earthy spices and a bit of tang.

In the taste, the tang comes out a little - like a little splash of citrus on your otherly-spiced meal. Spices are also present, very earthy in taste after that initial tang of maltiness. The actual winter spice notes gain some traction later as the beer normalizes later in the taste.

Overall, there seems to be one spice that dominates early (I think it's the nutmeg), but the spices drive the back end taste. I am having trouble finding anything bad about this beer other than the odd tang up front which isn't bad - just not quite expected. Definitely give this a try - the spices are big and fit in the winter warmer style quite well.
