A 330ml can with a BB of Sept 2018 (canned Dec 2017). Purchased a little while back from Trembling Madness in York. Brewed to celebrate the brewery's 25th anniversary, the label describes it as a pale ale hopped with two new world varieties: Citra and Rakau.
A: Poured into a tulip. A light amber hue with faint haze and good carbonation. Produces a decent head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before reducing to a patchy surface layer.
S: Aroma of pungent fruity hops with hints of citrus zest, peel, mild pineapple, tropical fruit, melon, hay, pale malt, ale yeast and subtle earthiness. Very nice.
T: Tastes of intense aromatic hops with notes of delicate grapefruit, citrus, peel, tropical fruit, melon, hay, grainy pale malt, ale yeast and earthiness. Pretty dry, followed by a modest hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with prickly carbonation and good body for the style. Mildly astringent; dries the palate. Aftertaste of fruity aromatic hops, citrus, tropical fruit, light bitterness, ale yeast and pale malt.
O: Excellent - a cracking APA. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are laden with fruity hops underpinned by subtle malt and yeast. Nice body. Very drinkable; goes down like a dream. Well worth grabbing if you stumble across it.
