The bottle-conditioned version of Meantime's Pale Ale (or "Blonde") on cask and the Sainsbury's Late Hopped Blonde Ale. I wonder why the brewery should invent so many different names for the same beer, if not for the purpose of marketing... For somebody not already having a rough idea about Meantime's brewery's beers s/he might be tricked to think Meantime has produced more varieties of products than it actually does.
The BB date printed on the bottle neck is scratched so unidentifiable.

A: dark honeyish copper hue, naturally cloudy, with a thick white foam dissipating slowly.
S: extremely fruity and hoppy on the nose--peaches, pineapples, intense smell of white grapefruit peel, on a bed of welcomed semi-sweet and light-bodied biscuity maltiness. Not terribly complex but bloody fruity and pleasant.
T&M: mouthful of delicious hops brings both immediate bitterness and a tartly citrusy and zesty hoppyness at the same time; the same fruity elements on the nose are repeated here, made three-dimensional with help of slightly thick and oily, floral hops, as well as huge influence of American aromatic hoppy flavour. Smooth, and a little creamy palate sustains throughout and served by a slightly tangy and tannic kick at the back, with a crisp and dryish bitter finish. This version seems to have heavier hoppy characters than the cask-conditioned version...
D: compared with the cask-conditioned version, this bottle-conditioned beer is less lively and less crisp in terms of texture, maybe the disturbed yeast has contributed slightly. Apart from that the beer maintains a consistent and good quality in the bottle. Good beer!

Bought this bottle in Newry and enjoyed back in Dublin. Poured copper amber with a small white head that disappears quickly. Very little carbonation or lacing.
Doesn't smell of much, some light grapefruit and hops.
Tastes of light grapefruit and other subtle citrus notes with breadiness and a bit of hops bitterness. Nothing overwheling though.
Light body overall and not too filling.
Would like to try more beers from Meantime before coming back to this one but it was nice to try something different.

on tap at the Greenhwich Union. A little dissapointed in this beer. Poured nicely & with a decent aroma, lacking any real character though, the aftertaste wasn't wanting me to go back for more.
It's really poor man's version of a sierra nevada pale...will give it another go though as i have respect for meantime!

A brown, copper beer with a settling head.

Smell is light malty layered with some nice citric hops. A light caramellic malt smell.

Taste is medium bitter, with the hops sticking out. A fragrant hoppy taste that confuses me a little. The hops have a citric and fruity taste, and although UK hops can have this, it reminds me most of US hops. The malt is light and a little caramel. Body was rather thin and the beer had just not enough taste for my liking.

A - Pours a cloudy amber with a frothy white head. Had a tough time keep the yeast at the bottom of the bottle out of the pour as it was disturbed very easily. The head drops to a thin, bubbly layer with almost no carbonation to help it.

S - Grapefruit, lemon, yeast, caramel, vanilla.

T - Taste fades in after a couple of seconds. Sweet fruit, with some citrus notes in the background. Breadiness builds in the middle, before a mildly bitter finish and a caramel aftertaste. Not very exciting.

M - Light to medium body with moderate, refreshing carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel.

D - Quite disappointed with this one after liking their IPA so much. A pretty good thirst-quencher, but isn't very exciting.

A: Looks rather carbonated, with a small head. A copper colour to it.

S: Smells like hops with a mix of fruits. Quite pleasing.

T: I was expecting more from Meantime, but the hops are mighty tasty, but the malt flavour isn't really that good, also it's a bit too carbonated where some of the flavours are lost. Perhaps out of the tap it would be better.

M: Quite thin, and it has a lot of carbonation

D: Incredibly light and drinkable; the flavour isn't that great, but it the hoppy flavour is just enough to keep sipping.

A - Poured into a pint glass a hazy golden orange colour with a couple of centimetres of fluffy white head.
S - Very hoppy fruit punch like nose. A bit of biscuity malt comes through as well.
T - Fruity hops again as well as the biscuit malt. There is a vauge over ripe apple note as well...
M - Light to medium bodied mouthfeel, medium carbonation.
D - I struggled to give this a's fairly drinkable but there are a lot of better options out there.

To me this tastes like an American Pale Ale, very similar to say Sierra Nevada, but not as heavy on the alcohol content. This was very enjoyable and I had several pints of this on my visit to the Greenwich Union pub.

A very good stab at the style and well worth a try.

Sunshine orange with good white froth that doesn't leave much behind. A straight ahead fresh Cascade nose.
Caramel on white bread with orange and pine resin hops.
Light to medium, crisp, soft, some chew.

A thinner, softer SNPA. Crisp and light enough not to scare off lager drinkers in the UK. A gateway beer, but doesn't stand on its own as a memorable APA (which it is, despite what's said here - Cluster and Willamette in there, too) and is routinely overpriced.

A - Nice light golden colour but no cloudiness

S - Amazing smell of bitter hops, hue and fresh cut grass like a field in the summer

T - You taste the hops good depth for that but little in the way of complexity

M - Not flat like so many ales but OK carbonation and nice dry finish

D - Yes would definitely drink it again but only in late spring and summer time else I ll just cry at the lovely smell of cut grass being stuck in rainy old Britannia

A beautiful orange colour with fine foam even if not so persistent. Immediatly at the nose come an explosion of malt (caramel) but go out hurriedly. Then aromas of hop dominate the beer (citric and grass over all). Also come out white fruit (green apple) and tropical fruit (pineapple). The peculiarity of this beer at the nose is that the smells are very identifiable and clean. In mouth herbaceous and floreal are evident and the body is light with a good bitterness. I think this beer could be a little more carbonated and alcoholic and less citric.. This would make more drinkable this anyway splendid beer!!
