37.5cl, bottled 5.3.18, so 10m old.

Unexpectedly clear and light colour, looks like an industrial lager. Carbonation and lace more conventional.

Drive-by aroma is spot on for style. But actual nose lacks a bit of complexity in some hard to define way. It does have brett and acidic notes as it should (some might say citrus but I never find anything fruity about this aroma). Some tartness and unruly aromas missing that I cannot pinpoint.

Taste is a slight let-down at firsr. It is too round and undry (it is not sweet absolutely speaking but relative for the style and aroma, it is)... not in an unpleasant way, but there is no edge and no challenge. It is too pleasant. But maybe that is just wrong expectations. Call it session gueuze as someone suggested, mild gueuze, nouveau gueuze or whatever that does not raise wrong expectations. Because this is actually quite good after you adjust. Wood is nicely subdued but definitely present. Notes of buttery chardonnay flavour.. I would recommend this from that angle to a wine drinker who is not familiar with beer.

Expect chardonnay type drinkability, and this is very good.

On tap at Koelschip in Copenhagen.

Pours an unclear golden orange with some fine foam.

Smell is citrusy with a bit of funk and brett. A little bit of dried fruit as well.

Taste is tart with notes of lemon, Seville oranges and a hint of bitterness. Soft brett and funk notes, and not very acidic,

Mouthfeel is thin and spritzy.

Overall, this is sort of a first step into the world of gueuze. Not overly complex or acidic, it's a bit like a session gueuze. Would be interesting to age.

Soft and shallow gueuze. Feels like an entry level to the style. Low on the funk, but has some brett, oak and yeast to fill. Thin body with passing fizziness and graininess. Nothing special.

750ml corked and capped bottle poured into a geuze tumbler appears light clear golden yellow with a white cap that fades leaving stringy lace.

Nose is delicate with a footy pils grain aspect, cheese, butter and soft brett.

Taste is faintly tart, cheesy to buttery and a hint of herbal bitterness before mild earthy brett.

Light in body, moderately carbonated. Its ok at best, for the price I paid I feel like I do not need to buy this again. Its quite buttery and under-developed. Maybe in time to come other bottlings will be better but this first experience was a dud for me.

Guessing this is batch one. 750ml. Consumed 1/2018.

Very light flavors all around, but easy drinking. Nice citrus and a little oak. Not very deep in flavors, but definitely promising. Refreshing.
