16 oz can into small rastal glass.
Canned 11/1/19.

Really silky black shiny body with a tall creamy beige head of 2 fingers, receding to a fuzzy half finger. Lots of lace too.

Aroma of hot peppers and really acrid coffee, some grill grate char, nothing else really.

Flavor is straight hot pepper with slight trailing notes of burnt acrid coffee. This literally tastes like a pepper beer using dark malt with the heat removed. Some smoke too, bordering on rauchbier.

Feel is slick and carbonated, with a nice complexity of dryness and roast and acidity.

Overall, maybe due to age this one kicked the bucket. It's still a drinkable beer, crushable even, but you have to be in the mood for a pepper beer or a rauchbier.
(Scores adjusted : this one was actually very enjoyable once I got used to it. Definitely more of a smoked stout at this point.)

Price paid : $4.99 / 4 pack
Would buy again : at that price I'd probably give it another go, but it was in the clearance bin

first off the can art is textured and feels really damn cool. canned two months ago, just seeing it show up in random shops the past few weeks. pours a dirty dark brown, not quite black, with a tight packed tan head that has slowly settled down into a foam cap, messy lacing left behind. i can smell this thing a few feet away, tons of coffee here. if my morning coffee smelled this strongly i wouldn't need a beer at night. upon further closer inspection there's also dark chocolate with some semi-sweet chocolate mixed in and roated malty goodness. a few hints of darker fruits and vanilla also join in from god knows where. delectable. goin in for a sip, this is the most cold brew coffee forward beer i've had, possibly ever, but at least in a very long time. rich dark roast immediately takes over and dominates most of the profile here. roasted malts, dark chocolate and some slight sweetness join in but it's mostly like drinking coffee that was left in the fridge in the best way. it's a tad thin, but not so much that it's distracting, leaves a lingering roast and bitterness and goes down incredibly well. made breakfast for dinner and this is the perfect accompaniment. great stuff right here.
