On tap in Portland.
Clear amber body with fair clarity.
quite hoppy but with average bitterness, at most, for style. In fact, there's a nice note of sweet malts hiding in with the hops. Medium bitterness in the finish with the grapefruit peel bitterness building in the aftertaste with repeated sipping.

Poured from my 1st crowler! Filled 8/30/15 from Growler Guys in PDX.

Looks nearly exactly like Pallet Jack (rich & brassy copper) Head is low, but good carbonation. Nose is subdued hop pine, w/ citrus notes warming up. Taste is dry, a bit watery (in favor of malt, it's fine), & nicely bitter on the finish. With pales like these, session IPAs are of no consequence! The low ABV coupled w/ a great bitter finish makes this my fall-back session! Well done! Not at ALL shocking.

"American-Style Pale Ale uses Centennial, Citra, Simcoe and Mosaic hops to give a fresh citrus aroma, with hints of grapefruit and pine. 5.5% ABV"

Had from tap tonight at Bar Gernika in Boise... Pours with a decent enough sudsy white head... okay lacing... the brew is a dark golden, but very clear.

The nose is amazing for a pale ale... huge citrus with a lesser piney element... maltiness is there, but blown out of the water by the hops.

Flavor is a fantastic IPA without the bitterness... just a resinous/juicy citrus.

Body is light and the bubbles were spot-on.

This is one of the best straight American Pales I have ever had... Very glad to know Barley Brown's is carrying the hoppy tradition in Shawn's absence.

Huge hop aromas, sweet bright citrus.
Very clear and light bodied
This is my favorite of Barley Brown's two current APA's the other being Tumble Off. I always seek it out when it's pouring around town

poured from a growler that was filled earlier today.

Clear, brassy, golden with a thin, foamy white head.

Light citrus and pine notes with a crackery malt backbone. Light bodied, medium carbonation.

Well done pale ale. A bit thin bodied at times, but a tasty flavor profile regardless.

While not quite in the same category with beers like zombie dust, bone-a-fide and RR Hill/Row, this is still a very tasty, hop driven pale ale. The low alcohol makes for a very easy to drink (in mass quantities) pale ale as well.
