Had this rarity tonight at Bier Thirty in Bown... In fact, had it twice!! Beautiful slightly hazed golden... good white head with okay retention and nice lacing.
Nose shows the expected boat-load of nice hops.... lemon and some pithy tangerine... a nice punch of tropical fruity hops are magnified by but what little maltiness that is left... very nice.
Bitter on the palate, but not an abrasive bitter monster, instead this is very balanced and fairly dry overall... lemon and something that reminds me of pineapple lead the hop charge. A light hint of the EtOH, but nothing to worry about.
IMO, the body is on the light side given the bigger ABV and that actually accentuates the drinkability... I put away 2x of these in a hurry and would have had another if they hadn't blown the keg.
Big props to Barley Brown's and Boneyard... One of the best DIPA's ever made.

Heard bier stein had this on tap, so had to run right down and try it.
The beer pours a very attractive peachy amber color with very good head retention and lots of sticky lacing all around. The nose is also attractive, as I get considerable dry citrus, pine, dank week and light tropicla fruit. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, but it just wasn't quite as impressive I thought. Still, the beer delivers plenty of hoppy goodness in a dry and bitter flavor profile, with just enough malt to keep everything in check. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, and the finish is long, bitter and satifying. This is a very easy to enjoy DIPA, no doubt about that, the alcohol is likewise very well hidden.
Still prefer better batches of Hop Venom to this, but there's no doubt about it, this is a very tasty beer.

on tap at Green Dragon, Portland
Glowing tangerine with no head.
Lemon, skunk, herb nose - lean and tart.
Tart apricot up front with big pine forest floor hops plus rosin, lemon and kronik.
Sour citrus rind finish and dank loong linger.
The piniest beer ever. Huge skunk and musty linger - is there some Sorachi Ace in there? Yet it’s never heavy, overly harsh with the bitterness, or hot.
A DIPA as sharp and exact as a scalpel.

On tap at Apex.
A clear orange with a dense white head that leaves sheets of lacing, this looks great! The nose is all hops. Big fruity citrus hops, grapefruit, tangerine, pine resin and pretty much noalt character. Pungently hoppy.
The Palate opens with a big, pungent hop bitterness, clean and resiny. Flavors of pine, grapefruit and citrus dominate. Malt character is minimal. Drying on the finish with a nice blend of pine and grapefruit pith. Carbonation is moderate and when it dissipates, the beer improves. Light in body, this beer has a long, bitter finish. Most excellent.
