One can from Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury. This version was with Brio Coffeeworks. Jet black with some head and plenty of coffee. Stout > porter.

Treated as an imperial porter, this was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a sturdy dark brown coming in very close to black in the glass. I have to admit, the pour definitely leaned towards that lighter brown color. Nice film of a little eggshell white foamy head that subdued at a fairly nice pace. Nice coat of filmy lace stuck around the glass fairly nice.
The aroma followed through a nice blend of coffee beans, coffee grounds, dark chocolate nibs, smooth clean caramel malts, delicate roast with a sticky milk chocolate strolling in underneath.
The flavor presented a fair blend of sweet to roasty coffee beans/grounds to the dark and milk chocolate qualities. It got slightly rugged in the aftertaste as it seemed to me that the "coffee grounds" grabbed it a bit more. Did I mind that? Not really, I have to admit that I liked it.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV seemed to feel just a touch under, but I wasn't bothered by that. Nice roasty yet smooth to slightly sticky coffee bean and grounds to the milk and dark chocolate sort of finish.
Overall, very nicely done imperial porter that I would love to have again.
