Nice place in Midcity. Decent tap list. With the wine garden next door it has something for everyone. Food is fine here with more selection at the wine garden next door. They share seating courtyard seating but you just have to order separately. Can be busy so service can take a hit, but overall the bartenders are attentive. Vibe is very New Orleans, laid back and kinda dingy but always fun.

A nice little surprise on the way to Parkway Bakery for a po-boy, this is a rowdy little bar with an entertaining customer base. Come here expecting a quiet, contemplative or undisturbed pint, and you might be in for a culture shock.

The beer list is far more impressive than you'd guess upon entering. While there were plenty of national craft brews tapped and in bottles, the local drafts were the most enjoyable, including deliciously fresh Parish and Gnarly Barley hops.

They do have a food window for pickup, but one very busy bartender runs the bar until it gets really busy. I'll leave it at that.

This bar is off the beaten path directly northwest of the city. It's not too far from the Canal Street trolley. It features fifteen very good microbeers on tap. The bartender, like most service workers in New Orleans, is extraordinarily friendly (at least to this Bostonian). Service is very casual which matches the dive-like setting. Very much a local bar, I was the only one from out of town.

There are a few seats out front on the busy S. Jefferson Davis Parkway. Inside, the place is dark and somewhat dingy, but the staff is jovial making the place feel brighter than it is.

This worth a side trip if you are a beer hunter.
