I stopped at the North Bend Bar & Grill while passing through the area.

The place is hunting lodge style construction and furnishings. It is clean and well kept. Nice mellow contemporary music plays. There is a big leather couch in front of a gas fire place.

Quality is good. Mostly regional brews with some Stone and Guiness (nitro) as well. I had a Sierra Nevada Harvest Ale which was very good.

Service was good. Not busy.

Selection is nice, with nine craft handles plus Bud Light and PBR. Good variety of styles, with three Snoqualmie handles, a half dozen bottled favorites, and a full bar.

Food: N/A

The place is a good value. Regular price $4 a pint Happy hour $3.

Notes: Covered smokers porch outside.

For an authentic Pacific Northwest, woodsy lunch excursion, a trip to the North Bend Bar and Grill is a great bet. In the shadow of Mt. Sinai, the bar sits along the main drag in North Bend, Washington. It was opened by Keith Mickle, former bartender of the 74th St Ale House in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood of Seattle. Its design is all log cabin lodge and always seems to host a mix of locals and passers through. The beer selection always has a fine assortment of local brews, though I have never found the wait staff to be particularly knowledgeable about beer. You’re not likely to find any surprises here, but they usually have one or two local brewery seasonals in addition to local year-round brews. There is a kid-friendly dining area, as well as a more pubby bar and lounge area with darts, pool table, and a fireplace surrounded by couches. The menu has burgers and chicken, steak and general bar and grill fare. It’s reasonably priced and I’ve gone back several times.
