Popped in here briefly while visiting Ohio. The vibe wasn't too bad, decent amount of space in the taproom/bar area. The service was friendly and very attentive. The selection wasn't too bad either, good assortment of style to choose from. Overall, it's a decent place to check out, the parking situation isn't the greatest though.

Need more beers on tap. What we tried the two times we stopped by were good solid beers. Full food availability would help too and that’s coming.

This is a new place in downtown Akron so I made the short drive up to try it. It is a relatively small place with a decent size bar and several tables AND a great beer selection, I think there were 15. They had just brought on their Spicer Street Christmas Ale to go with all of the others; check the website. I sat at the bar so I could talk to the bar crew and get the inside knowledge; both knew the beers and were helpful in making my second selection; I had to choose between three of the IPA's. I settled on the Proving Ground as it was just a bit tastier than the other two. They have a choice of glass sizes along with two growler sizes and a crowler station. This is a very nice beer place and there is an inexpensive city parking deck attached.

A skinny but very high-walled space and a lot of hard surfaces makes for an atmosphere that might seem cold and a little echo-y, but a large garage door opens to the elements when it's pleasant out, and a long, dark laminated concrete bar is actually really nice and somehow comfortable. There's also a decent number of high-tops, a couple of short but long wooden communal tables and a few boob tubes inside, as well as a very large, dog-friendly patio nestled below the road level, helping to minimize traffic noise.

The taplist is moderately sized right now, and currently features all their own brews. I wasn't crazy about their IPAs or Saison, but their Lager and Pilsner were both solid, and their Stout was nice too. Everything was very nicely made regardless of my subjective preference.

Service is great, and the ability to select 3 different pour sizes with each price listed right on the menu is a huge bonus. This is a surprisingly nice upgrade to a pretty perfect location in downtown Akron--if they play their cards right, focusing on their strengths and marketing those strengths well throughout the community, this could be a solid win for everyone.
