Notes: Sometimes life looks, and tastes, better without a filter.
It may seem crazy, but sometimes you’ve gotta do less to get more. Hazy Like a Fox New England Style IPA is double dry hopped with El Dorado and Azacca hops for the perfect blend of juiciness and fruity hop aromatics. We left it unfiltered and sent it straight into your glass for a hop-heavy taste as fresh as can be. Yeah, this super-fresh crowd pleaser is hazy… Hazy Like a Fox.

The beer when poored out looked almost artificially neon yellow, but that is because of the haziness of it. It smells not so great to me, but not bad. The taste is really nuaced on my first sip but towards the end of the glass it becomes hard to pick out some of the flavors that it started with. It starts out like it is better than a Panama Krunkles, but towards the end it finished like it had too much going on. The mouth feel is said to be enhanced by addition of milk sugar, but though it's smooth it may be a cheap way to boost the abv. Overall I like this beer for days when I want a Panama Krunkles but it is out of season.

Very good NEIPA!!! Pours a hazy lemonade yellow color with a small fizzy/foamy white head. Minimal lacing and average head retention. Aroma is some bitterness and a lot of citrus - orange and lemon along with a good amount of pineapple. Taste is more of the same - a moderate amount of bitterness and yeastiness...with a whole lot of citrus and tropical fruit. There is a touch of sweetness here too. Mouthfeel is light and refreshing. This is not a hop bomb. It has a good deal of hoppiness but the other elements smooth the beer out. A bit strong for a session beer but it has elements of a session beer. All in all, very enjoyable!!!

01/15/20 stamped on bottom edge of can. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint.

A: Hazy lemonade yellow with short-lived white big-bubbled slightly foamy head with a spindly collar of lacing.

S: Watermelon, pineapple, banana, and tangerine with an herbal, minty undertone on the hop side with not much on the malt side not surprisingly. Estery fruit yeast aromas.

T: Flavor is a step up from the aroma with a lot of watermelon, pineapple, lemongrass, mint, and lemon in the hop character. Yeast esters are plentiful in the flavor leaving a Fruit Stripe gum type of aftertaste with mint and light grassiness in the finish.

M: Highly drinkable with soft mouthfeel, low carbonation, and a slickness. No chalkiness like mediocre versions of the NEIPA style. Light-medium bodied, could use a little more presence in the body.

O: Easily the best New Realm beer I have had although it has a hard time standing out in a highly flavorful category.

The hazy style is tough these days with the market as saturated as it is. Too often the beers in the category are a bit skunky and definitely “average.”

HLAF is not one of those. This beer pops with a very fruity, very hoppy, yet still mellow flavor rush. There are other standouts in the category (Trillium, for example) but outside of New England this is as good as I have had.

S: tropical fruit, orange peel, and a hint of melon.

T: orange, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, and fruit cocktail.

M: medium feel, moderate carbonation, nice softness, and a semi dry finish.

O: overall a damn fine beer.

On tap:
The El Dorado shines on this fruit forward IPA. Typical and uniform haze on pale yellow body. Head and lacing are fairly nice.

Watermelon, candied orange, papaya, and generally sweeter fruit notes lead snell and taste. The prominent notes could yield a perfumey or sweet beer, but this avoids that trap. The high notes drive the taste, but the beer overall is pretty nicely balanced.

Poured from a tap a hazy yellow. Really good citrus aroma and taste was spot on for a quality NEIPA. Mouth feel was a normal with no bitterness on back of pallet. Very good NEIPA.

A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that left a large patch of bubbles covering the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of grapefruit pith are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has lots of flavors of grapefruit along with a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and has nice aromas and flavors of grapefruit. It makes for a nice session IPA.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

A very surprising beer right out of the can. A very unexpected IPA color, straw gold with only a slight touch of opacity. A turbid mess this is not, and isn't that far away from a real nice beaming clarity. Big frothy and controlled rich bleach white head, a total fistfull of easy four fingers in height and good swiss cheese like retention. Doesn't quite look like a NEIPA, but sure has a great color and appearance. Some nice ring pill like bathfoam lacing as well.

The hop aroma is really shining on this. Hints of thick tropical juice pineapple, with excellent sage and sweet minty green herbal flavors. Good spicy aromatics as well. There's a lot going on here, this is real nice.

Interesting palate. Juiced up with a good delicious forming malt backbone, hitting some chewy texture and depth. The hop flavors dominate, giving to tropical pineapple and melon like qualities. Real juicy flavors but also it sort of feels like trickery in my head. Wonderful spicy herbal aftertaste, mint, and sage seem to just be all over on the finish.

Can't care how I am being manipulated. Every time I look and drink this beer I keep thinking it should be a session light brew but it just isn't. A real surprise in this can, a very solid winning IPA.

Gifted by @brewsoverhoes. Pale orange/yellow with mild lacing. Smell of mango, slight lemon, floral. Pineapple is the strongest flavor, slight orange, sweet honey notes, slightly green. Medium body, dry finish. Interesting version of a hazy beer, not overly hoppy or citrusy.

Thanks Matty!

Vibrant straw blonde body. Hazy as labeled. Fluffy white head leaves a soapy, broken ring around the glass.
Papaya and mango in the aroma. Very ripe. Slightly floral.
The taste is quite different. Oranges, pineapple with hints of honey sweetness and a peppery, green finish.
The body is on the lighter side of medium, juicy and a bit slick. Lower carbonation.

L - Yellow and cloudy, 1 full finger of head that dissipates

S - Citrus notes

T - Lemon, pineapple, and citrus flavors. Well balanced and tasty

F - Medium body and well carbonated

O - A good hazy IPA, but not in the league of some of the torch bearer NE IPAs

I'm trying this at the brewery. It poured a hazy yellow with thin white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had faint tropical fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet fruit presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

PKG 10/16/18.

Appearance: Acceptably hazy, golden-yellow body with a mid-sized, white head.

Smell: Soft fruitiness with an edge of sweetness and tropical, citrus suggestions. Milky flourishes of wheat, oats. Fairly faint floral, resiny hints.

Taste: HLaF has that smoothly pastoral, almost standardized grain bill containing oats and/or wheat and/or raw barley. A bit of initial sweetness, a light touch of cream sweetened with vanilla sugar before introducing a lively acidity with a juicy fruitiness nodding at orange-mango, pineapple. Subtly restrained bitterness. Minute resinous, floral hint precluding the crisp yet smooth finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: It's not all that hazy. Was it supposed to be hazier? I even swirled the can in case something has settled to the bottom. Which is FINE, that's fine, as I find many of these nowaday IPA's to be gloopy, gawky and clumsy releases. So, what we have is a decent not-too-hazy, cleanly flavorful IPA.

Poured a golden, cloudy orange-gold body with minimal head and no lace patches. Classic hazy aroma of more tropical fruits and orange-like acidity then bitter hops. Smooth, clean, medium (filling/fluffy) body with more of a mild tropical fruit like sweetness and then a juicy bitterness on the finish.

This one pours a hazy golden color with a thin white head.
Aroma is definitely citrus, orange, pineapple, tangerine.
Taste follows to a tee. Sweet juicy citrus, very little bitterness.
Medium body, soft feel.
Overall a good beer, not exceptional but definitely one I'd have again.

From a 16 oz can poured into a tulip glass. Canned 8/1, enjoyed 8/11.

Pours a hazy golden yellow, decent white head with minimal lacing. Aromas of pineapple, mandarins and tangerines. Not jumping out of the glass, but it’s there.
Taste follows with ripe pineapple, tangerines, orange, definite hop presence with a light lactose sweetness and a bitterness on the finish. Smooth mouthfeel, yet very dry actually. Solid offering from New Realm. My favorite beer I’ve had from them by far. Not the best NE Style example but it’s certainly a start in the right direction.
