Pretty Boring Establishment. Beers are a mix and just nothing to really say wow about to this place.

Just when you thought Bellingham's beer scene couldn't get better, these guys have staked out their own unique and very compelling niche. With the exception of one thing (see below), they've really nailed it. First, of course, is their incredible beer selections. The original mothership, Aslan Brewery, down the street, is producing some pretty good beers, and they serve a number of their more ambitious offerings on tap here, leaning towards aged Belgians....which is the main style theme of this establishment. They have a fine selection of local, regional, national, and international beers on tap, and broaden the scope even further with their well-curated bottle offerings. They offer a wide selection from many of my favorite breweries, including Logsdon, Jolly Pumpkin, and Rodenbach, not to mention most of my favorite local breweries.

This is hands down the most comfortable space in town to linger over some great beer while conversing with friends. There's a large horseshoe shaped bar with comfortable seating, well suited to making new beer geek friends. Scattered around the spacious open room are comfy chairs and couches, and the decor is early 20th century "speakeasy", made all the more attractive by the aging barrels that line the wall. The servers are very beer knowledgeable, and take time and effort to provide a proper pour.

All this place would need to truly go over the top is some great music. They seem to have a good sound system, but when we were in, the typical garden variety contemporary stuff was piping. Exchange that for some tasteful swing music and jazz, and this place would really click.

Bring lots of cash, as the beers are pricey. I spent $15 on two 12oz pours of local beers, not including tip. Worth every penny.

Nice space. Dark green walls. Lots of barrels aging quietly on racks around the edge of the room. Very "grown up" feel to the space. Tap list is interesting and rotating. Features some of aslan's own beers, and a variety of guest taps from around the region. Service has been a bit mixed, but overall is pretty good. The beer selection on both the bottle and tap lists has been very good. A must-hit spot in Bellingham.
