A: A milky froth beige head sits an inch and a half proud, cushy and firm above a coffee colored pour. The faintest of carbonation presence appears along the vessel walls. A full band sheeting clings hardily to the sides. A nice presentation overall, especially the head.

S: Dried creamer accents the moderate chocolate notes. Milky, with some dunkin doughnut style coffee. As it sits and warms the milky quality becomes more settled in the background while the chocolate becomes more pronounced. Middle of the road expectations.

T: Chocolate flair, lightly dry, less bitter, are highlighted with some rich creamer. Sweet and spicy highlights, vanilla bean, sweet pie crust with some caramel-almond hints. The chocolate as with on the nose, becomes sweeter and bigger, more pronounced as the drink progresses. Some honey-chocolate sweetness, baked sugar cookies.

M: Very smooth and silky feel, easy carbonation, milky texture and medium body. Leaves hints of soft chocolate powder behind on the tongue.

O: Overall starts of moderate, but slowly it unfolds to a bigger flavor and offering of milky chocolate goodness that redeems itself finishing strong. Very smooth feel and drinkability makes this worthy of seconds.

12oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It smelled of chocolate, toffee and caramel. Sweet milk chocolate taste with very little bitterness.

it's a guinness with lactose sweetness attached to it. if you like their flagship, you'll likely enjoy this as well as long as you weren't mistakenly certain you were grabbing an actual straight-up guinness.

Nice solid stout. Good head when poured but the taste and smell are the greatest features of it for sure. Given the opportunity I would definitely buy again.

Maybe my expectations were just in the wrong place with this one. I see Guinness and Milk Stout on the label and assume it will taste remotely like Guinness, but sweeter. Boy, was I wrong. This smells like an APA and tastes like northwest hops and that's it. No malt, no roast, no coffee, just hops. I like a balanced beer, and this definitely ain't it. I'm all for supporting local brewing, but not if it tastes like this.

12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 10/2/2019. Pours crystal clear deep ruby red/brown color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread/crust, raisin, plum, pear, red apple, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, fruity yeast, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread/crust, raisin, plum, pear, red apple, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread/crust, dark fruit, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky/bready, and fairly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is good. A bit thin feeling. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.3%. Overall this is a very good English milk stout. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/charred/drying finish. Nicely soft, flavorful and not too watery for the ABV. Well balanced between nicely rich English malts, lactose, earthy hops, and fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made English style example. Wish it was a bit less yeasty.

Worst Guinness product on the market. Very watered down and over carbonated. The term milk stout brings visions of a silky and creamy feel. The opposite is true with this product. Would not recommend at all. Stay away, you”ll be disappointed. If you really likes this beer or want to try, I have five cans left. Feel free to come on over!!

12oz can. Stamped on can bottom is 'L9299T2001', (10/26/2019).
Dark brown colored body, with back lit edge of medium brown. Two fingers of tan colored head, which reduces to thicker cap. Leaves behind scattered spots of lacing.
Aroma of roasted malts, grains, burnt coffee, and lactose.
Taste is roasted malts and a tang such as from grain. Provides a hint of coffee but any chocolate is very distant. Lactose sweetness is there but not prominent nor inviting.
Thin mouth feel but with a creamy texture. Good carbonation.
Okay and sessionable but lacks any outstanding attributes.

Look: Extremely dark brown; it would be black if not for highlights at the bottom of the glass. One finger of of creamy tan head.

Smell: Mild dark chocolate, light roast malt.

Taste: Roast coffee and milk chocolate, with a mild roast bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Chewy with high, tingling carbonation.

Overall: A mild milk stout for beginners. Pleasant and easy.

Can poured into a Guinness pub glass

A: Pours dark brown mahogany brown with a frothy tan head that settles to a light layer and leaves some spotty lacing.

S: Roasty, earthy char, milk chocolate, slightly herbal, interesting mineral tone, and dark lightly burnt sugar.

T: Roasty, plenty of milk chocolate, some char, earthy, slight mineral tone, hints of dark fruit, and some toffee sweetness.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, creamy smooth.

O: Not a bad milk stout, not my favorite, but it'll do the job on St. Paddy's Day.
