Notes:
This sour blond ale is aged with a mix of yeast and bacteria (Lactobacillus, Pediococcus, Saccharomyces, and Brettanomyces) in neutral French oak barrels and then has organic Masumoto family farm nectarines added at about 2 lbs. per gallon. This beer brings a nice barnyard funkiness to balance the juice nectarine fruit.

Bottle poured into Lost Abbey tulip. Light yellow very clear and very slight carbonation that dissipates quickly. Smell is tart, funky, stone fruit, oak and sulfur. The sulfur is welcoming at this point but I'm hoping with more age is shows restraint and doesn't become overwhelming. Taste is tart, Brett, dry, underripe nectarine, citrus rind and lemongrass. I wish there was a tad more carbonation but overall this is an excellent beer. Similar to a De Garde in some ways. Certainly more complex and inviting than anything else available in LA at this point.

Poured from a 500ml bottle, Batch 2, a clear pale yellow under a 1/4" white head which fades to the rim and leaves spotty lace. Aroma is fruity, yeasty, funky, with some oak notes. Flavor is tart, clean nectarine, Brett funk and some hay/grassy notes. Light body and light carbonation. Refreshing fruity tart-filled funky finish. Solid.

Pours an unclear yellow with hardly any head.
Smell is tart and sightly funky, with notes of nectarine, lime and elderflower.
Taste is nicely sour, not overpowering, but balanced. Big notes of nectarine mingles with some citrus and elderflower, with some funk in the back. Dry finish.
Mouthfeel is thin to medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a very solid sour, mellow but tasty.

500ml bottle, batch 2. Served in a snifter glass. Pours a bright lemon yellow body, clear with one finger white head that is short lived, no lacing either. Smell is lactic acid, vinegar, fair bit of lemon, slight burnt grain, touch of sweet sugar. It smells fairly acetic. Flavour is a bit one-dimensional, mostly lactic acid and vinegar, with a slight bit of stone fruit and lemon. Not particularly complex, but fits the wild ale mold. Mouthfeel is lighter bodied, dry and refreshing, slight burnt rubber on the backend, but not in a particularly offensive way.
