World-Class
Lazier SusanLazier Susan
Notes: This beer uses the Lazy Susan base, but is aged in French oak barrels with more fruit (bring the total to around 3 lbs of fruit per gallon). Lazier Susan is a sour wheat beer aged with a mix of yeast and bacteria (Lactobacillus, Pediococcus, Saccharomyces, and Brettanomyces) and then has organic Masumoto family farm peaches and nectarines added in barrel. This all develops into notes of funk, oak, racy acidity, and juicy stonefruit.

Bottle.

A: Very pronounced peach and nectarine aroma, slightly funky with a slightly sharp, moderate lingering sourness.

A: Quite light, almost neon like yellow, super hazy – almost opaque with a very thin head that quick forms a thin ring around the glass.

T: Lots of peach and nectarine flavor upfront that quickly gives way to a slightly sharp, moderately strong sourness that lingers through the finish.

M: Light bodied with moderately light carbonation. Pretty effervescent with a moderate acidity that is quite pleasing.

O: Super Delicious; even bigger peach and nectarine aroma and flavor than Lazy Susan. The beer’s fruit forward aroma and flavor is really complimented by the sourness. Super refreshing and easy to drink!

Out of the bottle. Wow, this is the most funk that HPB has produced in a wild ale. Nice tart to acidity ratio, not overly sour. Extremely refreshing with notes of dirty peach. Sessionable. Looking forward to trying this again with some age on it.

Im a fan of HPB wilds, but IMO they lack the funky/dirty characteristics to take them to the next level...but Lazier Susan has reached that and this is my favorite of their releases to date

Pour from 500ml bottle
Hazy light yellow in color with quickly fading head
Smells of nice funky stone fruits. Taste follows the nose with a great level of acidity. Good carbonation on the feel that slightly dries your mouth with each sip. HPB knocked another one out the park with this. Definitely want to see how this does with some bottle conditioning.
