I was stuck in Vero Beach for three months and Mash Monkeys was my spot.. I'd visit all of the local breweries in rotation, but MM was by far the best. If they were open 7 days and/or during the day on weekdays, I'd probably have been an exclusive customer.
Vibe: Bar usually full of barnacled regulars who can be either friendly or insular depending on the day. Not a lot of what the kids call 'feng shui.' There is also a more open seating area for families, larger groups, etc., and a couple of smoking barrels out front. It's essentially a strip mall brewery, so the vibe is gonna suffer.
Quality: Hands down best beer in the area. I can't speak for their IPAs as that's not my bag, but that's what most people get and they seem happy. I am happy that they do multiple traditional lager styles, darker beers of all strengths, interesting sours, and even classic Belgian styles. There is always a very well-rounded selection on draft. Additionally, they usually run 2-4 guest lines which are all thoughtfully chosen and usually fill in their house beer gaps style-wise.
Service: Always excellent. Angela, who I think is the GM, knows a lot about beer and is skilled at dealing with a wide range of expertise levels. Brewers are usually hanging around, friendly crew. Great staff. Never had a bad experience here in maybe 25 visits other than losing trivia (not their fault)
Selection: See quality. Much thought is given to prioritizing variety here. They even offer mimosas, ciders, wine, cold brew, etc. for the inevitable non-beer person.
Overall: Best beer in Vero/Sebastian. Best variety and most beer-serious. Could use a little modern taproom energy. You will be sandwiched in at the bar by crusty locals. No food on site, but sometimes a food truck and always a pizza spot next door (outside food a-ok) If they've got the pils on, they'll do a slow pour!

The first of our four stops going to Sebastian and Vero Beach to check out their brewery offerings...
I would surmise this place as the "greasy spoon" style brewery. Rustic, the bar pretty much anchors the location, and on a Saturday afternoon, the local brew flies were bellied up to the bar. I will say that the one bartender was doing an absolute banging job taking care of everyone, and though I only had one beer at this place, I enjoyed it immensely.
I will also admit, I would have graded the vibe a bit more lower if it weren't for the friendly patrons at the bar. It was a very nice way to start our self-guided tour.
