My buddy Mike visits the DMV every year about this time for one conference or another for his science/weather on other planets job. Every year I go see him on a weeknight since I'm in the area, and we have dinner and drink a few brews. This year they stayed at the convention center just north of Chinatown and we ended up over here.

Our server was Paris, who was very friendly. The selection was very good, and had plenty of DC and adjoining states' beers as well as from further afield. I had some weird awesome IPA from DC Brau and my buddy ordered a few things including a cider I had not heard of.

They have one in Gaithersburg and I know this is a chain but the selection is quality and the food and atmosphere were generic but certainly fine. I'm sure I'll be back.

Located a half-block from the former RFD, this is a recent addition to Chinatown. Yes, it is a chain that is more of a sports bar with plenty of taps, but they did have some excellent draft (60+) brews, including Wicked Weed, Founder's, Elysian and several regional brews - they also offer several house beers. The space is large and modern; in the middle is the large (steel-topped) bar island amid a selection of booths and high tops. Of course, there are TVs throughout. Efficient service and a huge, but eclectic food menu, makes for a worthy stop when in the area. If you are really thirsty, they offer - naturally - beer served in yards.
