Doesn't fit to Flanders Oud Bruin beer style category. Fits to Oud Bruin from Netherlands. It means uncomplicated in aroma and taste, low alcohol (usually 2,5% to 3,5% by ABV), semi-dark (amber) to dark lager with dominant sweetness.
Micheal Jackson translates Oud Bruin from Netherlands like Old Brown Lager.

my second endeavour into the dutch version of the oud bruin style, again i am not impressed, it reminds me of faro in the sense that it’s a style which is intentionally very sweet but with the sweetness being the main thing that brings it down, there’s some decent brown bread malt flavours here, caramel, figs, but it’s just too sweet, kandij sugar flavour, no bitterness on the finish, light bodied with medium carb, it’s drinkable enough but it’s very dull, again, too sweet. not sure what the appeal of this style is really

L - dark brown, white head
S & T - blackstrap molasses. That's it. Water some down and gulp it down. Save yourself the problem of going down to the shops for this one. So sweet, so one dimensional. Barely a beer.
F - who cares, this is liquid blackstrap
O - Nah
Would not recommend this one.

I like Dutch old browns. They don't excell but are easy to drink.

Disgusting beer - no aroma or taste profile whatsoever, it's just a sweet carbonated beverage.

In it's specific style of Dutch Old Brown this isn't the worst example. But the beer still it has a very high sweetness to it and it barely tastes like beer.

Bottle at Het Konings Huis, Delft, Netherlands
A: The beer is clear but dark reddish brown in color and has a light amount of carbonation. It poured with a thin beige head that quickly died down, leaving only a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of sugar cane and molasses are present in the smell.
T: Like the smell, the taste is rather sweet and has notes of syrup-like sugar cane along with hints of molasses.
M: It feels a little more than light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The sweetness of this beer isn't extremely palatable but it is the light-bodied nature of this beer that still makes it easy to drink.

Bottle of 300 ml at home. ABV is 3.5%. It pours a very dark brown, non transparent beer with a thin, brownish head that dissapears slowly but steadily.
Aroma is sweet, slighty fruity, maybe raisins (?)
Taste is also very sweet, I get some caramel flavour and it leaves behind, after each seep a very thin sour aftertaste that combines well with the overall sweetness.
On the body is quite thin, carbonation is almost non existent but I believe it has a high drinkability.

Delicious, sweet, mild brown beer. Would be a perfect dessert beer with a cake or pie. dark brown with almost no head. Sweetness of prunes and raisins. Different style and unique to the Netherlands....

Look: the beer pours dark red-brown color with a nice brown head.
Smell: Very sweet malts, caramel and dark sugar
Taste: follows the nose. Very sweet malts, caramel, dark sugar, and some hints of very sweet coffee.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium carbonation, smooth and sticky.
Overall: This will never be my favorite style, too sweet for my liking. For the style however, decent brew

My 3.5%ABV version came in a brown 33cl bottle with a best before date of Jun 2011, so whoever retired it on BA did so a bit early!
Poured into a Westmalle chalice: initially it looked good, a clear bright, yet dark ruby red body sat below a tanned head, the head sadly fell away to just a collar very quickly.
No smell at first, then as it warmed a sugary, sickly candy aroma arrived.
Very sweet tasting and with next to no body depth, a watery, malty syrup, with a nasty metalic aftertaste.
Oh dear me, this is one poor beer!
