A bit on the sweet side, enough sweet grain to push it over near the pale lager boundary. Clear golden with abundant foamy (and fast receding ) head. Aroma is sweet grains, taste more of the same, finish also. A good hot weather beer

22oz. Bomber
Enjoy By: 07/2015
Pours a very nice clean/clear dark golden orange color, very nice carbonation, with a nice quick/fizzy white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, very nice caramel note. The taste is very nice and malty/caramel notes, very nice sweetness. Medium body. Overall, a very tasty brew.

22oz bottle, an apparent part of a program at Full Sail where their individual brewers get a chance to produce something of their own accord.
This beer pours a clear, pale golden yellow colour, with two fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat creamy bone-white head, which leaves some layered drooping cloud lace around the glass as it very lazily recedes.
It smells of grainy, crackery pale malt, a bit of buttered biscuit, a soft apple and pear skin fruitiness, a touch of hard water flintiness, and some perky leafy, grassy hops. The taste is more decent grainy and lightly bready pale malt, a steady white biscuity character, muddled pome fruit esters, a still sturdy stoniness, and more earthy, leafy, and zesty grassy hops.
The carbonation is nice and testy in its varied fizzy and frothy emanations, the body a solid middleweight, and generally smooth, the hops kind of sniffing around a bit, to no real detriment. It finishes pushing dry, the lingering graininess and zippy, but not overly bitter hops assuring me as such.
A pretty tasty and bang-on rendition of this refreshing old-school style - crisp and yet well-behaved, the overall hop/malt relationship as amiable as could be. Definitely as easy drinker, after a week of scorching vacation temperatures, this I can say.

Too heavy to be a Helles, IMO. Tastes like a drier Session Lager.

A: 4.0 - Crystal clear light gold with a small frothy head, lots of fine streaming bubbles.
S: 4.0 - Very nice aroma for a Helles, not grainy at all, just good clean malt.
T: 3.75 - Much like the nose, the dominant flavor is simple pils malt. Bitterness is moderate, higher than some examples of the style, but there's not much hop flavor, and emphasis is on the malt.
M: 3.5 - More body than many examples of the style. Maybe a little too heavy, as it's not as easy drinking as most.
O: 3.75 - Gets the style right flavor-wise. Unfortunately, Helles just isn't an exciting beer.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a pint glass.
Appearance: medium golden hue with no haze and a very strong effervescence. Head is a finger of pillowy ivory foam. Pretty attractive!
Smell: nice malty aroma, but aside from just "malt" there's not a lot of character here.
Taste: lots of basic malt character. Hops are low enough to not be terribly detectable, though there is a very low bitterness. It's very clean, I will give it that, but there's not a lot of complexity here.
Mouthfeel: light body with a big carbonation and a good creaminess despite its lightness. not bad.
Overall: this is tasty enough and seems well-crafted, but there is not a lot of great complexity here. Perhaps that is the point -- just a clean, drinkable lager.
