Style: American Amber / Red Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our Amber is a sweet, malty, medium-bodied ale with a spicy, floral hop finish. It's brewed with 2-row Pale, Crystal and Chocolate malts. And we hop it with Mt. Hoods and Cascades. We're as proud of it today as we were back in '89. And over the years it's earned 14 Gold Medals. Not that we're keeping track or anything.

It pours a hazy amber with a two finger thick fluffy, white head that dissipates quite quickly but laces quite well. On the nose there's not much going on, some roast malts, a little caramel, raisins/grapes, biscuits and bread, though all very weak and not overly appetizing. The taste follows the nose, though the malts shine through. It's quite sweet with a little hop bitterness following through on the back of the tongue. The mouthfeel is really water with a tiny bit of carbonation. Overall it's a really drinkable beer, quite nice for the heat of the day and would probably go well with some BBQ, but other than that, not much going for it, not worth getting a whole sixer of it and not worth much effort in searching out.

This was had on cask at the Full Sail riverfront pub. Pours a nice red/amber color with a good foamy head.

Nice and balanced with malty aromas, toffee and some hops. Solid depth, but not too exciting.

Very smooth medium feel. The feel is very nice but the depth of flavor is lacking a bit with notes of malts, caramel, and some hops.

A solid amber. Nothing too exciting but drinkable.

Poured a dark copper colored body. Off white head, which dissapeared rather quickly. Minimul lacing, nothing exciting.

S- Strong hints of Caramel all over this amber. Bready/biscuity, honey, raisins and hops.

T- Follows closely behind the smell. The toasted notes of bread are strong and inviting. Ends a bit bitter from the hops to balance things out.

M- A bit watery, would like to of had a creamier mouthfeel on this one. Medium carbonation.

Another okay beer from Full Sail. I wouldn't go out of my way to get this, but its still pretty good.

Pours chestnut brown with a bit of chill haze and a thin, cream colored head that sticks in patches.

Aroma of french toast, toffee, earthy grains, and a hint of evergreen (spruce?)

Taste is malt forward, with a slight sugary sweetness of whole grain muffin with maple syrup and some mild spice. Grassy, slightly lemony tang in the semi-dry finish.

Body is medium with a round, smooth mouthfeel. Needs a bit more crispness.

Easy drinking amber that is all about malts and a bit of spicy playfulness. Great for a change of pace, but a bit sweet for me.
