Notes / Commercial Description:
Winter weather forecast for Hood River: unseasonably tropical. IPApaya, the latest in our Pub Series, blends locally grown hops with notes of papaya for a vacation in a bottle. IPApaya was born out of our interest in the tropical aromas of Northwest hops. Pale and wheat malts along with healthy additions of Equinox and Cascade hops provide the perfect golden base for the addition of papaya. The result is a refreshing IPA with the subtle essence of papaya. Tropical aromas of citrus, passion fruit, and papaya are well complemented by clean malt notes.

Bottle from TJs.

A clear light orange with a dense, off-white head with good retention and lacing, this looks solid. The nose is surprisingly good. A definite papaya note, moderately tropical, is present, along with a little citrus and pine. There's Satsuma mandarins, orange blossom honey, and a little dough are present. The palate opens with a define, fleshy, pulpy, papaya flavor, fresh and fragrant with a combination of citrus and mild pine bitterness to round out the fruit notes. The mid-palate has a soft, doughy, mildly honey and caramel like flavor. There's a touch of astringency present, especially on the finish, mildly grapefruit pith-like. Light in body and moderately carbonated, this beer has a long, bitter finish with a little bit of fruit. Solid stuff.

12 oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy straw yellow with a medium rocky white head that goes to a thin film and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet candied tropical fruit with some perfume.

The flavor is sweet tropical fruit with a floral hop finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation and is slightly watery.

Overall, an OK fruity IPA.

12 oz bottle.
Look: clear amber body with a decent white head. Minimal lacing.
Very nice aroma mixes papapa, hints of other tropical fruits, spicy hops, and faint bread, The flavor is comparatively disappointing and way more hop forward despite some mellowing effects of the papapa. Mildly bitter.
Feel: near medium body and carbonation.

Clear gold with one finger of white head that lasts about five minutes. Rings of lace.
Smell is tropical fruits and bready malts.
Taste is tropical fruit mango papaya grapefruit zest leather herbal grassy hops with just enough malt backbone for the style.
Mouthfeel is medium with ample carbonation. Finish is tart dry and bitter.
Overall and unusual and pleasant IPA.

Pours apricot with perfect carbonation, smell was a bit weak not a lot of hop or fruit.
The taste was super papaya came thru loud and clear and really blended well with the hops.
Felt great I. The mouth, perhaps a touch thin, overall-a fine beer

12oz single bought from Fred Meyer in S.Salem OR $1.50 Very light gold looking body for an IPA..creamy, smooth white head is good to look at. Extreme fruity papaya/mango fruit aromas..very refreshing.Slightly herbal hop in the end. Taste is far more balanced getting more pale malts to balance the extreme fruitiness, even in the after taste the fruitiness gets less acidic and becomes very well balanced. Creamy smooth low to medium carbonation..excellent mouth feel Nice fruity IPA..very unusual for Full Sail..the usual yeast profile appears to be missing in this one.

A slightly hazy apricot with lots of tiny bubbles rising, and a finger of white, foamy head that lingers, and sticks to the glass. The aroma is...yup....papaya, childrens-chewable vitamins, doughy, lemon/citrus. The flavor is sweet and bready, right away, papaya, then a good dose of bitter kicks in, and continues to build. The feel is, well below average carbonation, medium-ish body, dry on the finish. Overall, above average, but low carbonation, and lightish body are leaving this lacking. The overall flavor is ok. Smells a little artificial, to me.

Appearance is clear yellow with plenty of white foam in the Affligem chalice. Certainly a powerful fruity aroma. Long nose of grapes and papaya. Very light body. Fairly sharp, and then there is the rather excessive bitterness.

Some malt and white grape flavor. This is more bitter than fruity, but it's an IPA first if that's what you're looking for. From the 12 oz bottle purchased at Haggen Market in Burlington, Wash.

Folks, this isn't just an IPA, it's a tropical IPA and should be rated as such. I happen to love the taste of papaya so I really enjoyed this IPA. If you don't like papaya, you won't enjoy this IPA. It pours a bright gold with a healthy off-white head and lots of lacing with a nice fruity - hoppy IPA aroma. Excellent tropical fruit tasting IPA with a heavy emphasis on papaya. the hoppy bitterness comes through just as it should in a really good IPA and the last flavor you taste is the papaya. It goes down easy. Enjoy!
