this really only loosely tastes like beer, i mean, its so light that it only loosely tastes like anything at all. its not bad, which is why its good, if that makes sense. its fresh and crisp and cold and wet, a beer for crushing, awesome with greasy and spicy street tacos, a fine accompaniment to some tequila shots, and refreshing and drinkable as can be. it has a little more grain and hop character to it than some of the other mexican lager types, but the real success here is not the flavors that are here but the ones that arent. it doesnt have that cheap metallic adjunct thing going on at all, and the corn in here seems beneficial rather than detracting. its super clean and dry too, each sip a new experience. satisfying when its real cold, and better than pretty much any macro lager, on par with the better mexican lagers, and super affordable too. carbonation is on point, and its very summery. call me crazy, but i liked this pretty well in the context of mexican food. these session beers gets a bad rap, but this is pretty good as they go!

Any more pale and it would be clear. This is a nice warm weather, easy drinking pale lager. Nothing is dominant and the hops and malt make for a even and crisp finish, with a taste of corn lingering a bit.

Appearance - The beer pours a golden color with a one finger head of white foam. The head fades moderately fast to leave a light level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell - The aroma of the brew is strongest of a grainy smell mixed with a bit of yeast and dough. Along with these aromas comes some light lemon and lime citrus as well as a bit of grass and hay.
Taste - The taste begins with a grainy and crackery taste that has a bit of yeast and caramel malt flavor mixed within. As the taste advances some of the lemon that was in the nose comes to the tongue along with some light herbal hop flavors. At the very end of the taste the citrus and the grain increase a little bit with some loss of the caramel, leaving one with a light, but flavorful and crisp taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel - The body of the brew is light, but thicker then I would have anticipated for a Mexican cerveza style. I was anticipating something very watery and light, but this had a decent sum of body for a 4.5% abv brew, which actually did nice to accentuate the grainy and light citrus and hop tastes of the brew. The carbonation level was on the average side and again did well for the flavor profile overall.
Overall - A rather easy drinking brew that had a good level of flavor, but wasn't overpowering. A good summertime session.

11 Oz bottle Package date(located on the outside box) 7/25/17

Pours a clear pale golden body with a white head. Lots of visible carbonation. Hardly any retention or lacing.

Smells seemed pretty grain forward. Grains, cornstalks, freshly mowed grass, with a wee bit of lemon/orange citrus.(but it's well under the radar)

Taste starts off following the nose with a big dose of grain but there a very interesting little lemony taste that gives an interesting twang to the finish

Crisp feel with lots of carbonation

Value(does not affect overall score) Yes it's 11 ounces not 12... but for $12 bucks a 12 pack these full sail session 12 packs are always a good value.

I don't seek out Mexican beers unless I'm at a Mexican restaurant. But this seemed better then most. That little lemony "twang" on the back part of the taste was the difference for me. Wish they had this one at El Toro...
