L: Clear golden color with a lacey thin head. Some little carbonation and bubbles.

S: Strong citric smell that combines well with the malty aroma. Perhaps a hint of pine and herbs.

T: Surprising hoppiness in the front that I didn't catch from the smell. Gives way to that citric/herbal flavor and finishes with a pleasant maltiness.

F: Good mouthfeel, doesnt leave a sticky lingering in your mouth that some IPAs do. Its light bodied, very drinkable. Quaffable even, for an IPA.

O: Solid IPA. I would recommend it for people just starting to try out IPAs before moving on to something more complex.

APPEARANCE: Clear, orange-amber, one finger of foamy white head that dissipates fairly quickly and leaves a ring on top of the beer. Very mild lacing down the glass. Medium carbonation rising.
AROMA: Citrus, minor pine, sweet malt, slight astringent notes.
TASTE: Sweet up front, then mild bitterness and hop astringency, Simcoe, I think.
FEEL: Medium thin body, medium carbonation. Mildly dry finish.
OVERALL: Fairly mild overall, in pale ale territory. Pleasant enough, just not a fan of that catty/Simcoe flavor/aroma, but it's on the mild side.

I guess my original review didn't save, in any case...

This is the first IPA I ever purchased, due to prestige of brewery and price. It makes a good starter IPA if you're wary of the super bitter, piney IPAs out there.

Poured into a Spiegelau glass:

L - reddish-orange with a good finger or two of head that dissipates quickly.

S - citrus, fruit, some biscuit malt and pine, more sweet than sharp/bitter like more pronounced IPAs.

T - Starts malty smooth, very fruity, almost like an amber, then has a slight hoppy finish to qualify it as an IPA.

M - Light/medium body, slight carbonation but a very drinkable session IPA.

O - As mentioned, a good starter IPA. Not too bitter, not too malty sweet. A good go-to IPA that's more like a pale ale, but definitely "tasty."

Poured into a plastic cup (desperate times call for desperate measures). Very beautiful color, amber with nice head. Not much of an aroma. Too carbonated. I feel like its not hoppy enough for an IPA but its drinkable and would be something that someone that doesn't normally like IPAs would like and would be able to drink. Refreshing. Had two but wouldn't buy it again.

This was my first offering from this brewery and I tend to be partial to IPA's and usually try any new one I can get my hands on. This didn't dissapoint with great color, smell and hits you with a mild hoppiness. I would pick up again.
