Every time I'm near Hood River this is a must stop place. Down the long hallway to the back where the deck and pciture windows give great views of wind surfers and if you are a rail fan the Union Pacific mainline. Drink beer, eat good food, watch kites, and trains. On a hot summer day the only better place is up in Parkdale at Elliot Glacier.

Have to admit that I travel by brewpub. If a town does not have one then there is no need to stop. Problem in Oregon is that they are not space far enough apart. You leave Edgefield leaving Portland and before you know it you are in Hood River with at least four place to taste.

They always have the newest and freshest beers on tap in the tasting room. And if you need take out they always have specials.
Try a new Full Sail with one of their appetisers and then have something for dinner. It is typical pub food but the staff here really enjoy their jobs. And everyone trys to treat you like an owner would because they are. A great employee owned brewery and a great place to meet friend.

July 2016 visit. 17 taps (or more)
very helpful service. I did not try the food.
Beers to go as singles, 6 packs and 12 packs.
Some bomber bottle rarities too.
Lovely site overlooking the gorge.

cool to see one of the old school northwest breweries in the flesh. they occupy a huge block of prime real estate right in hood river, overlooking the river, and everything appears clean and new from the outside, considering how long they have been around. spacious facility, definitely the big boys in town here. the tap room is bustling, and the patio is absolutely packed. not surprising since the views there are gorgeous. i was surprised by how many beers they had on tap, looks like quite a few brewery exclusives. what surprised me more than anything though was the quality of the beer. i though with the whole session line and everything that these guys were more focused on volume than true craft quality, but i shut up about that pretty quickly. the oatmeal pale ale was simply amazing, full bodied and really fresh and flavorful, distinct, and nearly flawless. the other beers we had here were excellent as well. they were super busy but the bartender still took some time to be personal with us, and the other guests were all super friendly and chatty. this exceeded my (perhaps too low) expectations, the beer was great and the vibe was cool. looking forward to another visit and hopefully a tour this time.

Great place to sit and hang for a little or long while. Limited selection of beer unless you love FS, then you are in heaven. Food is consistently good, but nothing unique. Great place to stop and watch the water from though. Beers are always high quality for a larger scale craft brewery and the staff is always friendly and on it.

Full Sail has the feeling of a big, corporate brewery/brewpub but during the summer the outdoor seating with views of the Columbia make up for it. The food is decent for a brewpub. I might be a little bit generous with a 4/5 on that one, but it's not bad. Their standard beers are decent and they occasionally have some interesting limited editions on hand. There's usually something on nitro.

People will underrate their beer because it's nationally distributed. People will underrate their space because it's decidedly not pretentious. But I'll be damned if I can think of a better way to spend a warm afternoon (after a morning hiking or kayaking) than by sitting on the deck at Full Sail, beer in hand, soaking the ridiculous view of the Columbia River. Such an awesome place.

Outstanding views of the Columbia River and really tasty grub. Excellent beer selection with rotating special brews unavailable elsewhere.
