A 330ml bottle with a BB of Sept 2010, so it's officially past it's best. Picked up cheap from my favourite beer specialist. The label is different from the picture - this is Budels organic lager which I assume is the same beer (along with previous reviewers).

Poured into a Guinness pint glass. A hazy golden colour with fine visible sediment and good carbonation. Yields a small white head of foam that subsides quite quickly. Aroma of light grainy malt with a hint of sweetness and yeasty notes.

Tastes of light malt with a distinctive grainy note. Slight malty sweetness. Hints of yeast and notes that resemble corn; no hops are discernible. Very faint stale note in the background. Mouthfeel is smooth and crisp. Light malty aftertaste with mild staleness.

A notch above a typical mass-produced lager. The best feature is the maltiness; it tastes as if a good amount of grain was used. However it lacks in hop character that would add flavour, so the result is fairly bland. Not unpleasant, but nothing special.

Best before 3/2013.
This beer is made of organic ingredients. The lat biologicI tried was quite disappointing, so let's see if it was just that or all the bio beers taste equally bad.
Standard dutch bottle of 300 ml, poured into a nirmal glass.Golden yellow colour with a small white head, one finger in height, quickly gone, leaving just a thin strip around the beer's surface. Average activity in the glass.
Nice aroma, a bit hoppy, but other than than I couldn't perceive anything else.
Taste i very nice too, on the bitter side. A great difference from my previous bio-beer, which tasted more like wet hay. This one is actually pretty good.
Nice body, medium thick and just the right amount of carbonation.
Overall, I found this one pretty decent brew. Usually when something is biologic or made with organic stuff, it doesn't have any taste or it tastes really bad, but that was not the case with this beer. Too high of a price for a pilsner though, so I don't see myself buying any time soon in the near future.

Labeled as "Budels Organic Lager" (purchased from Tesco supermarket)...

Appearance: pale yellow, great clarity, thinnish layer of white froth that quickly dissipates

Aroma: grain and a crisp fruity/floral hop scent

Flavor: mellow malt sweetness with a very smooth, gentle hop bitterness; herbal hop flavor; finishes dry with a clean aftertaste

Mouthfeel: light body, spritzy carbonation, crisp

Other comments: Very refreshing and drinkable, yet with enough flavor to keep it from being bland.

Purchased at the Tesco supermarket. The label is slightly different now, saying Premium Organic Lager instead of Bio Bier, but the cap bears the old name, Bio Bier, so I guess it should not be a new one. BB JUNE 2007, served chilled in a pilsner glass.

A: very pale straw in colour, moderate and smooth carbonation, the white beer head dissipates pretty fast.
S: touches of dried grassy hops, faintly sour lemony, honeyish and water-biscuity malts upfront. Quite subdued but not unpleasant.
T: feather-light-bodied lager malts enter with a faint honey-ish taste and some undesirable plastic hints... a mildly bitter-sweet taste of hops(?) and grainy malts gradually develops... a touch dryish on the mouthfeel in the end, but the body thins out very soon.
M&D: the carbonation is o.k., softly spritzy; yet the overall mouthfeel is very thin and watery, with very little body. All in all, I agree with last reviewer, that this is not a good beer, and I will never buy it again; but it's not horrible if compared with A-B Bud~~
