I am not entirely sure what style of beer this is supposed to be. Perhaps euro dark lager is correct. Pours with no head, no foam, not even the little ring of bubbles around the rim of the glass that I saw in bad college parties. Sort of an odd orange colour, with rust. Actually, I just realised the colour looks alot like the russet apple. Weak smell. Some malts, perhaps some caramel candy, not much else. Taste is okay. Bit of an astringent sweetness, some caramel and malt, and a bitter aftertaste that seems unnatural. The bitterness, for some reason, seems chemical. Mouthfeel is a bit light, slick, and oily. I'd give the drinkability a 2, but I'm hot, this is cold and right now I could see myself having another. In certain circumstances, I could drink this. I'd even purchase it again, if the price was cheap. At best, a thirst quencher.

A nice looking beer in its tawny brown jacket. ( nice head too) The beer however is unfocused in its flavours. A dryish finish that spikes slightly sweet at times. What it comes down to is that the brew needs more oomph and some focus. ( Try the Alt to see the promise of this brewery).

A copper colored beer with a small head and very low visible carbonation.

Smell is roasted and slightly burned with some bitterness, clean.

Taste is bitter with upfront roastiness, giving the beer a maltbitterness. A little too agressive for me, it is a bit sharp. The yeast profile is clean. This is a beer without pretentions and shoulf be drank like that. Not a session beer, but that is OK.

Clear amber with a short stand of light tan head. Some lacing. Brown sugar aroma with a hint of floral hops. Thin malt flavour with moderate bitterness, finishing with metallic harshness and a bit of sweetness. This character doesn't get better as you continue drinking. Not much body, but still a bit sticky residual sugar. I think one was enough...

This brew is better than ordinary in every category but a little short of being a really good ale.
The colour is a deep amber and the carbonation makes a blizzard of activity in the glass.
The head only about half a finger but retention is good as is the aftermath of heavy ring, full lace and a cling that reaches for the stars.
The taste is initially nut like, then switches to a citrus like quality.
The body is just short of being full.
Very nice.

Poured a dark orange colour, with a smallish white head, ok lacing. Not much aroma - just some grain, slight metallic aroma. Taste was ok. Better than the average macro lager. Fruity, good malt base, balanced by a good hoppiness. Easy drinking, decent flavour. One of the better beers in the sampler.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a medium off-white head with average retention. Aroma is quite weak and only some shy malt can de detected. Taste is also quite bland with some lightly roasted malt and a watery finish. I had macro beer that had more taste then this. Doesn’t augur too well for the rest of this six-pack sampler.

Appearance: an amber pour, small-ish head. looks about average.

Smell: again with Budels, not a hell of a lot going on with the nose. some malts, a sweet-ish toffee quality as well but overall, bland.

Taste: some moderate maltiness and semi-sweetness. an odd metallic bite on the finish. lacking in depth of character. little hop presence.

Mouthfeel: light, watery, dull and mild. too weak and smooth, a trend of Budels.

Drinkability: i tried the one. can't say i want to go back for another.

Looks pretty good. Nice red-amber colour, decent looking head that settles to a thin film that manages to provide some decent lace. A reasonably pretty beer to drink.

Coppery, hoppy aroma with a whiff of alcohol. Sweet, caramel like taste that gives up just a hint of fruit. Not a lot of depth of any kind. I begin to suspect Budels is Dutch for "thin" or "watery".

Competent, but not one I'd walk real far to find.

Pours an amber color with a small wispy head and minimal lace. The aroma is of bready malts and a slight astrigency. The taste is of caramel and some hop notes up front that quickly gives way to a grainy astrigency. roasted barley and fruit notes are also detectable. The mouthfeel is somewhat watery. This is an average dark lager, no Sam Adams though.
