Great Falls Brewing Company

An excellent addition to the few breweries located in the northwest corner of Connecticut, Great Falls occupies a space in the old train station in the middle of Canaan. I have been there twice in the last month, and each time I was very impressed with the ambience. Great deck for outside seating, good selection and variety of beers on tap - 14 to be had recently, friendly service, comfortable indoor seating, a couple of TVs in case you want to watch a game, some snacks that can be purchased: and the biggest plus - it's open all week. Most breweries around these parts are only open a few days at the end of the week, so it's a pleasure to be able to drop in on a Monday afternoon! Highly recommend a visit!

 

I have been to Great Falls a number of times since it opened. Well located in the middle of town — in the old railroad station, which of course adds to the ambiance — it is a spacious and comfortable place, with a long bar and numerous tables and easy seating areas. The beers are all from the brewery, but there is always a wide selection, though generally with an emphasis on the New England IPA style. Service is friendly and efficient. No food yet, but you can bring your own. I have only been there in the colder months, so I cannot comment on the outdoor seating.

 

Quaint taproom in old railroad station in center of touristy town in north western CT. Very much a local vibe. Large L-shaped bar seats about 20 with numerous tables about the room. 14 beers on tap, the one I had was solid. Friendly service.
