10 Ton Truck pours a golden color with a large, long-lasting, lacing head. The aroma is dry and bitter, with fresh vegetable hop notes. The flavor is dry and slightly bitter, with a hint of citrus—good body and feel. Overall, delicious IPA, drinkable, very dry, good hop-forward beer.

10 Ton Truck
Saltfire Brewing
Date: 24 July 2021
I ponder if the name means this beer will hit your taste buds like a 10-ton truck? I used my fancy IPA glass, and the temperature is close to 44 degrees. The pour created a frothy and billowy white head with above-average retention. The dissipation left clusters of lacing all over the glass. The color charts around SRM 6, pale straw with golden yellow hues. Excellent clarity with a few active carbonation bubbles. I wanted to see a longer-lasting head.
The aromas in the beer are pine resin, grapefruit, toasted crackers, a hint of green grass, herbal, a touch of malty sweetness, a touch of bread, and a skosh of peaches.
I taste pine, malty sweetness, resins, pine needles, grapefruit, tangerines, toasted crackers, bready, green grass, phenols, a touch of peaches, and a slight earthiness.
The mouthfeel is astringent and dry.
The body is medium, medium carbonation, and has a lingering finish.
I do not think this is Saltfires best IPA; moreover, this IPA is delightful. I wanted more West Coast flavors like pine needles and grapefruit. Nonetheless, I enjoyed drinking the beer.
