A very American-style taproom. Right down to the horrible, industrial, trying-hard-not-to-look-like-you're-trying "decoration" that is so common in most newer ones. Not to harp on this too much cause it is just me being a curmudgeon, but if you have exposed copper pipes for your bathroom sinks that run along the ceiling and walls but they are controlled by a touch sensor that gives you a prefect temp in an instant I immediately think less of you. Anyway on to the important stuff...

They have a huge selection of Black Isle beers. I'd actually be surprised if it wasn't basically everything available from them at any given time. The taps cover many styles, ABVs, adjuncts, serving styles, etc. including some gluten free beers, some invited craft beers from Scotland (and possibly elsewhere), some international ones, bottles from locals as well as the US. It was cool to see a 750 Odell sour there, for instance. All taps are available in a pint, a half or a third. They have shirts, etc. for sale and specialize in pizzas made in a brick oven. All the beer is organic and ingredient-wise the food is organic and either produced by them or locals. The pizzas were delicious. The beers I had were all solidly made, to style, and tasty. One gripe that I ordinarily wouldn't care about is that they seemed to give short pours. They don't, but I feel like they could make their servers top up with head for a better visual impression of the beers. I wonder if they have a system that presets the volume on purchase, but even still I've been to places like that before that still managed a solid head. I admit it's a nitpicky thing, but I found it noticeable and kind of a bummer for presentation of their beers. Either way, this is a very nice place and it is amazingly cool to see old world people emulating new world craft beer culture and how incredibly popular it is with locals.

Visited the Black Isle Bar (which was literally next to our hotel) three times during our three days in Inverness. This place was great! Not only was the beer quite good, but it also had a rooftop lounge as well as accommodations, should you not want to have to stumble far to get home. Several cask offerings were available, as well as guest taps. The place was quite busy whenever we visited (even mid-afternoon) and there were other offerings (wine, cider, whisky) in addition to beer. Not an extensive food menu, but the wood-fired pizzas were excellent. Family friendly with a crowd that spanned age groups. In my humble opinion, the place to visit while in Inverness.
