This traditional Mexican Lager is fermented cold with Mexican lager yeast. A light and easy drinking beer, Venga is delicious when served Chelada-style with rimmed salt and a lime wedge. Venga translates as "come on!" or "let's do it!"

solid mexican lager here, simple and good, served with a lime on the rim so at first thats all i can really smell, but this stands well on its own even without that, and is basic but good overall, these guys are doing good things! blonde to bright yellow in color, near clear, and with just a short quarter inch of white bubbles. the nose on this has some citrus to me anyway, a hint of sweetness perhaps from some corn in the mash, and a nice mineral profile suggesting good water chemistry, the yeast is subtle as these go, but i get more from it as it sits and warms a bit. the flavor is clean and brisk, its drier than it smells, and this is fast drinking, bubbly, and refreshing more than it is flavorful to me. soft earthy grain character and a very light hop element but with some mild citrus in the mix, white florals, and faint bitterness right on the swallow. a nice lagering overall, this is technically very well done, even though the yeast flavor is mild, the crispness and ease this has are fantastic. it did predictably well with spicy and salty food, and is definitely a beer to have more than one of. the lime is not needed, but it also works well with it, of course. summery but i would drink this anytime!

Had on tap at the brewery
On arrival one finger of fine white head poking over the top of the glass was present. Color is a traditional golden straw. Some light lacing is left.
Aroma is slightly funky limke most mexican pale lager, with a light hint of pale barley, but not much else.
The taste is pretty nice, predictable as it is literally the epitome of "cervesa" beers. Light slightly funky or maybe skunky, but light and grainy with a slight hint of bittering hops woth light aroma present.
The taste follows the aroma and is quite predictable bit crushable. This is malty and yeasty, again like a more flavorful (but not by toouch) modelo type beer. Not as funky or fruity/light as a corona.
Feel is crisp and almost dangerously drinkable. High carbonation is accompanied by a medium long finish. Good lager feel.
Overall it is what it is. I think they are intentionally making it taste like an import macro, which makes sense, but that means it's not all that much better than a traditional Mexican pale. Definitely more malty but at least they tried to make it detectable that this has mexican lager roots.

Bought from Beer Drop (where else could I get this in Chicago?)
A brew that has been on BA almost as long as the brewer has been on BA.
Given how dedicated this Cerveceria is the Mexican kitchen and culture, it probably is not fair to stick Venga! into the adjunct style. This is a good example of why BA styles probably should merge with UnTappd's.
As for Venga!, I like it! It poured politely, it Smelled subtle, it Tasted tolerant of the tacos spice and it calmed my mouth. If any beer can do all that, it should not be labeled an "adjunct."
As for Cerveceria Colorado, they are cool to dedicate themselves to Mexican culture. It often is over-looked despite its contributions to the U.S. This Cerveceria's website has several of the heroes of that culture as, I presume, consumers of their beer. And all that is good. Kitchen, community, beer. And they made it through Covid and Trump !

Part of a care package from another member.
Look, clear, very light golden straw color. Small head that dissipates fairly quickly to a thing ring of foam. Minimal lacing but active carbonation as it sits.
Smell, big grain and corn type bill, light lemon and grassy/floral notes.
Taste, tangy citrus, honey and sweet grain, mild herbal notes.
Feel, crushable sweet session type lager. highly carbonated.
Blows most traditional Mexican lagers out of the water. I could kill a 12 pack of this in an afternoon.

On draught at Frontier Brewing and Taproom.
Pours a clear pale gold with a fine layer of foam. Light lacing.
Smells like a Lager. Some malt, some hops, not a lot of grains.
Taste matches the smell, kinda dry finish. Very quaffable and the mouthfeel is decent.

Clear, pale yellow body; plenty of slowly rising carbonation; decent head, white with a creamy texture and some rings of foam clinging to the glass. Fresh and appealing aroma; cracker; spicy and mildly fruity hop aroma. Clean and refreshing taste; light sense of cereal grain; delicate esters; mild and complementary hop bitterness. Medium body; soft and creamy; nice cross between wet and dry with the mouthfeel.
A refreshing and full-body lager, delivering some tasty substance yet also coming across as light and refreshing. An excellent beer!
