I have been coming to Pazzo's since they opened. During the early 2000s, I was a much more frequent visitor. However, more recently, I have only been able to visit about one time per year. These notes are from a visit on 7/3/2011.

The patio additions and other new spaces have made this place a great destination for families as well as well as the after work beer. It is a very accommodating space.

The beer selection has not changed much over the last five years. This is and always was my biggest complaint with Pazzo's. I would like to see more rotation of some rarer brews and seasonals. That said, they do boast quite a few taps as well as bottles.

The wait staff was always friendly in the past and I was not disappointed during this visit.

The pizza, however, was far below the quality of the past. I have always loved getting a pie and beer. This time, the pizza was made with seemingly poorer quality cheese, too much cheese, and toppings scattered haphazardly. It was an uneven oily mess.

All of that said, I look forward to my next opportunity to sit on Pazzo's patio and drink good beer.

Apparently, this place used to be legendary. Their door has a listing of all the different beers they USED TO have. I heard that the ownership changed. Now, it is basically just a mediocre sports bar with noisy clientele and greasy pizza. My waitress was really nice when I was in, so it's not all bad.

Love the seating inside and out, only wish the patio was larger. Greeted immediately and seated as quickly. Beer selection is second to none. The food is excellent. Great place.

So I've been to Pazzo's many times, but I never taken the time to give it a review. So this will be based on my recent visit during our trip to Lexington.

Pazzo's is just an all-around great pizza joint with an incredible beer selection. They have something like 40 taps and a super strong focus on craft beer so even the most discerning craft beer advocate can find something he will love. If you get lucky you may even find a few rare taps as well some rare bottles to be had. The pizza is top notch and their pretzels are absolutely world class. I highly recommend the beer cheese as well. Prices are very reasonable and you can go and enjoy a good dinner and a beer any day the week and not leave within empty wallet.

Pazzo's is the best restaurant in town for craft beer lovers! They also happened to have pretty good pizza, but I always go for the beer. With about 100 to choose from, they have a great selection of local craft beers, Belgian classics, and barrel-aged beauties. The restaurant is a bit of a maze, but that is part of the appeal. When you include all of the nooks and crannies, this place is quite large...I bet it is rockin' on UK game days! The staff does a great job suggesting beers and seem to know their stuff.

Pazzo's Pizza has been a UK staple for years and has some of the best beer you'll find in Lexington. They have daily pint specials and lots of taps, as well as lots of bottles. The selection is one of the best in town, but if you're into more eclectic beers, you might have trouble honing in on a beer; with so many bottles and taps, it's hard to keep their beer menus up to date and since the majority of staff are college kids just trying to make a buck, asking for a bottle of The Reverend can result in, "I'm sorry, I can't find it, I think we're out," even when it's in plain view in the downstairs cooler. They do have the occasional hard to get beer, like BCBS or KBS.

The place is huge and it seems like it's always growing. There is a bar downstairs, a main level bar and dining area at the front entrance, a small front patio, an upstairs dining area and bar, and upstairs covered patio, and a newer uncovered patio that's absolute huge. They just added a roundbar to the outside patio as well. The crowd is typically college kid oriented because of its location on campus, which means it will dwindle during seasonal breaks.

Their pizza is some of the best you'll find in town. That's really all I can say about that. Expect to wait at least 30 minutes for a pizza, that's just the way it's always been. I don't know if that's intentional to get you to try more beer or not, but that's what I always end up doing.

If you make it in on a Wednesday, Pazzo's has a "Pint Night" where you can buy a particular pitcher of beer and take home two branded pieces of glassware. If you're a collector, they often give away unique pieces.

It's hard to beat the combination of beer and pizza, and Pazzo's has it mastered. Definitely stop in if you can.

I was in town for the weekend, and decided to find a nice place near my hotel to get dinner and some good beers. Based off everything I read, this was probably my best option. We arrived slightly before 5 PM, and the place seemed really empty. That being said, I'm sure this would be completely different if UK was in session.

We didn't get to see much of the place, because we were seated right at the front of the place, next to the bar. The host provided us with menus and a beer list, but it took waiting for 10+ minutes, and me going to ask the host about our server, before anyone showed up to help us. I'd read that the service could be spotty, so I wasn't too surprised, but was disappointed. The tap list was pretty good, but I wasn't blown away. I've seen more impressive lists, but was glad to see a few things I sometimes have trouble finding in Columbus.

The food was great! We had the pesto bread appetizer, which the wife loved, and the Bourbon Bootlegger pizza. Both were excellent, and I wasn't disappointed in that. Prices were pretty average, but I was disappointed in their happy hour options. Founders was the brewery of the month, so it was $1 off per pint, but otherwise, there wasn't much of a discount.

Other than the service, I was pleased with the trip. On an even busier night, I'd expect to receive much worse service, but if you can deal with that, the drinks and food are well worth it.

Pazzo's has a great draft beer selection, offering some of the best craft brews from around the country. Pints are typically reasonably priced ($4-$5 for craft beer), as is their bottle selection (which requires its own menu). The place fills up pretty fast, and parking is limited, but as long as you don't catch them on a terribly busy night, service is good and the atmosphere is nice. The patio is great in the summer! Their pizza and calzones are among the best in Lexington, albeit a bit pricey.

Pint night can be a bit of a nightmare if you're in the mood to sit back and enjoy a beer. The beer selection for pint night has been lacking a bit of pizzazz for the past couple months (some glimmers of hope here and there), and their draft rotation hasn't been as stellar as it sometimes can be, but they've definitely got the largest variety of beer on tap in town, and you're guaranteed to find something tasty for a decent price!

I wish they'd bring back some of the events they've had in the past, like Stone vs. Dogfish week. Had some excellent beer that week!

A must see stop in Lexington for out of towners and a usual watering hole for many of the craft beer drinkers in town (including myself). Pazzo's has about 40 taps at any given time and has an extensive bottle list. The food is not mind blowing but not bad either. Go between 3-7PM any day and get half price appetizers (all the apps are delicious and at half price they are almost pennies). They have a great variety of beer and usually have some great beers on draft (no need for me to list just check the website). Pint night on Wednesday is always crowded but it is fun and if you like collecting glassware it is a fun evening.

The wait staff isn't always the most knowledgeable about some beers but the bartenders know their stuff. Have a couple pints here and some food and walk about 12 minutes down Euclid Ave. to the Beer Trappe for a night cap. Both places are owned by the same family and both have outstanding beer selections.

One more thing, they have a great lunch special where you can get a jumbo slice of pizza and either a soup or salad for only $4.65 after tax.

A - 5 This place is always poppin'! Pint Night on Wednesdays is especially busy; you'd better get there early to make sure you get your chance at the pitcher and glassware. This is a predominantly college crowd. The servers are probably mostly UK students as well, and everyone seems friendly and to be having a good time.

Q - 4.5 The place has 3 main bars to choose from, is kept clean for the most part, and has great beers and pretty good food. Mostly everything is done right.

Ser - 4.5 Though I feel it has actually declined in recent years and the turnover increased, they maintain a high level of service. Bartenders and servers have always been accomodating to our needs. We're always offered a sample if we're not 100% decided on a brew. The staff is friendly.

Sel - 5 I've always been impressed with the selection here. There are 40 taps and probably up to 100 bottles to choose from. There's also a full bar of course. No matter which level that you are sitting you're free to order from any and all of the taps. There are plenty of domestic micro brews, imports, and locals. The selection for Pint Night (every Weds night) varies amongst the three categories and offers all kinds of styles. Everyone is sure to like something one week or another.

F - 4.5 Though it isn't gourmet, the food is high-quality and very tasty Italian. You can't go wrong with the pizza, calzones or even hoagies. It definitely serves its purpose in soaking up all that good beer, too!

V - $$ The prices are very fair on the food and beer. I've never felt cheated here. Pint Night can be an especially good deal as you take home two glasses of the brewery of the night and some of the glassware is of very good quality. All in all I wouldn't think twice about the costs here.

My go-to place whenever I hit up Lexington, Kentucky! The setting is diverse: traditional pub downstairs, pizza parlor upstairs, and a newly added lounge and patio. No one person's taste in pizza (or beer for that matter) is the same. But it is good food. In a medium sized college town. There is a massive beer selection (I hear 3F beers are now served there!), flat screens everywhere for sports, outstanding pizza, perfect location just blocks from downtown, and a super friendly staff and cool clientle! This place is at the top of my list in this state.
