The colour is deep brown-red (60 EBC), the liquid is clear. The three finger head is compact and pale brown; it sinks slowly leaving some lacing.
The smell is semi-sweet with caramel, toffee and some bitter hops. Hints of pine needles and hay, but also dusty notes of old paper and over-ripe appels.
The taste is quite light and rather dry. Some caramel, some pine needles. Passing sour-bitter hints. Red berries and dried apples in the aftertaste, as well as a smooth bitterness. Some pulp in the finish.
The carbonation is strong, the many small bubbles are sharp on the tongue. The liquid is somewhat dry.
Quiet drinkable, not many off-flavours. Still, I had hoped for some more character from the Simcoe dry-hopping.

A: Pour is copper with a really tall brown uneven head that sets, leaving little lace. Enormous amounth of small bubbles in the liquid.
S: Roasted dark malts, somewhat sweet, but also there is corn (imagine opening a can of sweet corn). Bready. Some bitter hops and some faint caramell. Perhaps some nettles way in the back.
T: Very, very sweet. Alomst candy-like sweetness. Corn and dark roasted malts. Some bitter hops and even some buttery notes.
M: Aftertaste is somewhat bitter but more sweet. The sweetness sticks in your mouth for quite some time, and not in a pleasant way. Body is rather thin while carbonation is aggresivly strong.
O: Way too sweet for my taste. The label states quite a lot hops - not in my bottle!
