Location of this brew pub is a cream city brick building that used to be a sock factory. Spacious place with plenty of room to have pool tables, the ever-popular golden tee, table hockey and dart boards.
What this place does not have and is not acceptable is the lack of a kitchen. I am not demanding 5 star cusine, but at the minimum there should be "bar type" appetizors offered. Two years of business and this is unacceptable. Bar would score higher, but the lack of this seriously lowers my opnion of the place.

This is the bar that 3 Sheeps Brewery is attached to. They carry all of the 3 Sheeps beers, but are otherwise mediocre.

good evening,
i have just moved to sheboygan and wanted to clear up one point from previous reviews. the brew haus started serving food early in 08. the reviews are oustanding.
i hope to make it there myself soon to check it out. still getting my bearings, unpacking boxes, and what all.
the first thing i did when i hit town was reseach all the great beer places. i'll come back with a more thorough review next week hopefully. for now just wanted to clear up that one black mark they had.
good luck guys

Biggest negative, no food offered on site at this pub. Pub usually means food served, but not at Hops Haven. The place was clean, restroom neat, but found the place was mostly empty on a Sunday afternoon. Located in an old industrial part of town so parking was easy. The IPA and root beer were both very good. Did I mention the place would be better if they provided meals to supplement their beer?!!! Nice try, but fall a bit short. If you are in town or live nearby, stop in for a beer, then go out to diner. Otherwise spend your time and money elsewhere. Would not drive out of my way again to see this place. I am an up person, but this place needs some work before I would visit again.

Atmosphere- This is a great old sock factory that has been turned into a bar. It has exposed brick and open wood ceilings. There are some dartboards and a large banquet area aswell. A man locals call Grandpa Jo just turned 100 and donated his whole beer bottle collection. It runs along the rafters and has some pretty amazing beers.
Quality- They had pretty good beers that would be nice for non-BA's but they were brewed right on style. I had several beers and from talking with locals they have a pretty good variety of seasonals.
Service- They were really busy the night we went in and many 20-something people were ordering BMC beers or malternatives many of the others were drinking HHBH brews.
Selection-They had a nice selection of 12 taps with most being their brews but 4 taps were other local brews. They had 15 bottles and 9 malternatives aswell. You could also get growlers to go.
Food- They don't serve food yet but since they open 2 years ago they keep saying we are going to start serving soon. There is a decent Thai place 1 block south that we picked up food and brought to the bar.
Value- I am used to Chicago prices and this was an incredible deal. I am used to paying 5 -7 dollars a pint and these were 3 dollars for all pints. It was a nice bar and well worth the stop.

Jeff Kolar, the former brewmaster at Port Washington, has taken his operation to his own facility in Sheboygan. The Port Washington beers that are being sold at retail will retain their name, while the draft-only brews will have the Hops Haven name.
I was in Sheboygan on business, disappointed that there were no brewpubs listed on the beer sites. But by chance I looked through the Yellow Pages and found a listing for Hops Haven. I drove out Saturday morning and found that although they had a directory listing since January, they had just opened two days before I found it (May 9).
So the new facility is in an old woolens factory, which meets the standard for exposed brick :^). A very nice spacoius area, still somewhat in progress, but airy, with big bright windows. Jeff and his wife were manning the taps, where they had six of his beers on tap, plus a few guest taps (I believe Blue Moon was one of them), and the cooler of Lite beers for the clueless. They didn't have the kitchen running yet, so no food rating there. Best of all, though, were some really fine beers. The Pier 96 Lager is the first American lager that really made me glad to have tried it, and the porter and hefewiess are equally "spongeworthy." All in all, a promising start for what could become a great place.
