Presentation: 12 oz brown bottle. No freshness date.

Appearance: Burnt brown, nearly black with a light tan sticky head. Very inviting.

Smell: Loads of pleasing black malt and dark chocolate aromas.

Taste: Smooth and rich with a huge malt body and a tingly hop bitterness. Chewy mouth-feel that dries to a bitter sweetness in the end. Mild dark chocolate flavours and a vague smokiness linger at the end.

Notes: Damn fine balance of just the right amount of black patent, chocolate malt and hops. No overwhelming astringency at all. This is a great porter; true to the style and we are sure it would stand up to many English brews of the same.

A solid porter to say the least, highly drinkable with a sublime smoothness. Perfect balance of chocolaty maltiness and bitter and flavourful hops.

Very well put together and a sure bet if you like porters.
