12 oz. bottle, i don't see a date. My second beer from Bent River Brewing Company, and it's been a long ass time since I've had that beer, their Sweet Potato Ale. This one an "Oatmeal stout with coffee" per the label.
Poured to a clear stemless wine snifter.
Straight pour down the center reveals a dark inky black beer, no light is visible. Manages to conjure about a finger of short lived bubbly mocha-tan head that leaves some scattered spotty lacing. Looks sticky, sweet, & intriguing.
Mouthwatering aroma of dark roasty malts, burnt coffee beans, and sweetly pleasant notes of dark fruits: dates, figs, raisins.. Super inviting.
Super rich, dark, & roasty. Hugely bitter & roasty authentic coffee presence on display here. Notes of vanilla & cream are intricately woven in there. Oats lend a lovely smoothness to the body.
Feel - super smooth, creamy, roasty, bitter, burnt, charred. Notes of cream & coffee bean on the finish, absolutely lovely, beckons the palate for another sip. My only quip here I think is that the carbonation could aim to be just a touch higher, if not for that I might have no other choice but to place this one up there with the other greats like Surly Coffee Bender, but for now we'll call it close. Highly recommended.

From a pint bottle into a pint glass. Pour had a 1/4" head of darker brown foam with a dark, dark brown verging on black body. Scent has strong notes of molasses/brown sugar, cinnamon, and (of course) notes of coffee. Taste brings out the oatmeal as a strong base on which the molasses and coffee building into battle between slightly sweeter and slightly more bitter/acidic profiles. Aftertaste has a nice attenuation of the oatmeal and coffee leading to a slightly bitter, all stout feel. Overall a fun offering.

Look: dark, opaque, melted chocolate
Smell: chocolate, coffee, woody, Brazil nuts, mocha
Taste: bitter chocolate, dark roast coffee (Sumatra), touch of pine/wood
Feel: drying finish, medium mouth feel, light carbonation.
Great coffee flavor, but lacking aside from that.

Look: Very dark brown, opaque. Not much of a head, a bit of white film around the rim.
Smell: Coffee, chocolate, robust "roasty" notes and some earthy hints.
Taste: Very powerful coffee, chocolate, and alcohol. Strong sweetness in the mouth followed by more bittersweet after swallowing.
Feel: "Spicy" carbonation, medium body, leaves a warm mouthfeel.
Overall: This beer seems a bit polarizing judging by the reviews here, and I can see why; it's probably not for everyone, but I liked it!

From old, undated notes. Poured from the bottle.
Dark brown hue.
Tan head; minimal lace.
Fresh roasted coffee bean nose, with a hint of chocolate syrup.
Medium mouthfeel.
Bold, over-the-top fresh ground coffee bean flavor. A hint of spiciness from the bean underneath, with a touch of chocolate syrup.
This is far from subtle & the oatmeal has been decimated by the coffee, but I like these flavors so much I hardly minded.

On tap at Burlington, IA brewery. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It smelled of coffee, chocolate and toffee. Sweet chocolate with some roasted coffee and hints of pine.
