Brought a can of Breda Royal Lager from Hong Kong. It poured a clear yellow with big carbonation and white head to start, but eventually dissapates. The smell included grain, malt, and light hop. The taste was much like the smell....typical Euro Lager beer. The mouthfeel was decent....medium light...easy drinking....certainly could session this one. Overall a good beer.

Got one in Singapore. Terrible. Like cardboard and watered down beer mixed together.

Believe it or don't, I scored this (& many other) CAN(s) through a cat in China! Man, he wildly overpacked everything, hedged on the Customs forms & sent it by slow cargo ship. I was truly shocked when it all arrived intact. I kid you not, there are times when The CANQuest (tm) leaves even a veteran such as myself incredulous.
From the CAN: "Imported Royal Lager Beer Founded in Holland Since 1538"; "Imported Premium Quality Royal Lager Beer".
I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a Gussie Busch Glug into the C of the glass. This action had the desired effect of creating two-plus fingers of foamy, rocky, bone-white head with reasonable retention that slowly faded to wisps, leaving marginal lacing in its wake. Color was Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity, enticing a visit from The Gelt Gang of Mammon, Midas & Croesus, all clamoring for a taste. Nose was quite malty, almost downright sweet, but at least it smelled clean & adjunct-free. Mouthfeel was medium, about right for the style. The taste was clean & malty with seemingly little to no hop presence. That said, it was also VERY sweet! Phew. Finish was likewise sweet & somewhat cloying. Man, it was not as bad as "Poor", but it was far too sweet for my taste. It was not really to style, either, since there was such a lack of hop presence, bitter or otherwise. Once again, the numbers for a rating are tough. YMMV.

This is a biased opinion as I am from Guernsey, however being able to taste it from draught gives me quite a different outlook. The tinned variety of Breda has no comparison with the draught beer, it is also more potent making it very appealing to the locals, exact alcohol content is unknown. Breda is without a doubt my favorite beer that I have tried, having been to Germany and Amsterdam on beer orientated holidays. I'd encourage any beer enthusiasts to visit Guernsey and try it first hand, you can take tours of the brewery and sample as much as you want.

Something new since I'm stuck here on the island of Roatan. Nothing surprising or interesting here, but drinkable and refreshing on these hot Caribbean days.

Poured from a 16.9 oz. can. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, a bit of grains. Taste is crisp, some grains and malts, a bit of an unusual aftertaste, somewhat metallic. Feels light in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

First an historical note, because there is a lot of confusion around this beer. Breda formerly housed the largest brewery in the Netherlands (Oranjeboom). Interbrew, the Belgian owner of the brewery, closed the brewery in 2004. On closing of Oranjeboom Brewery, Breda beer production was moved to both Bremen and Leuven. Until 2008 when Randalls Brewery (in Guernsey) acquired the licence. Guernsey is now the only place in the world where draught Breda is brewed, and provbably one of the few place where you can find Breda on tap. This beer has a good taste, a darkish yellow coulor, with a crispy smell. Taste is full, and clear. Fantastic beer of Guernsey£!

Because this was popular on my friend's trip to Vietnam, at least in the tourist spots he frequented, this became the "t-shirt that he brought me." Malt job with metallic finish, so-so drinkable. Not an entire drainpour, but certainly nothing special.

I'll get to the point. This beer tastes as if if it has had a couple of tea-spoons of sugar stirred into it during serving. I do not know how else to describe it. It is overwhelming on the palette.
Bought in Singapore from a supermarket. Any beer is very expensive here. But this is relatively cheap at 'just' approx US$3 for a 330ml tin. If it weren't so expensive, I'd have thrown it away. Truly dreadful.

A - Poured golden yellow with lots of carbonation. Small head, quickly disappeared, still many bubbles/fizz.
S - Some grains, yeast.... not a lot going on here.
T - Reminds me of a cheap macro, tastes similar to a piece of hay when you visit a farm and want to look the part. Very similar to since you never know if it has pee on it. This is not very good.
M - Too carbonated, thankfully the aftertaste is not too awful.
O - I will finish the can, but thankful that I only bought one. Really not impressed with this representation. Expiration is next year, so it's not that. Not for me...

Got a can of this at a backpacker travel agency place in Byron Bay, Australia. Brewed in Germany for a Dutch brewery, odd. From notes.
A - Poured golden straw, good carbonation, minimal lace and retention. Bright.
S - Honey, sweet grain.
T - Quite sweet, sweet grain, honey, corn, very macro. Lagery and has a sickly sweetness that somehow goes down easy.
M - Cloying sweetness in the finish, mild to medium carbonation, light but oily feeling body, not pleasant to keep around.
O/D - Not good, but easy to drink. Good value for free, but I wouldn't pay for this to try again.
