It’s not great. The packaging would make you think its a craft beer but its not. It tastes like they really really did not know how to brew. you initially get a fleeting sweetness, but not of nice malts or wheats, more of a chemical, artificial flavor thats quickly overwhelmed by a cardboard taste or whats typically considered “skunked” beer. On the bright side, you might not mind if you had to drink your own urine to survive as it probably taste better than this.

Late in January, I was fortunate enough to meet Kelsey Grammer when he was promoting this beer at a supermarket not too far from where I am here in New Jersey. Yes, I'm a *huge* Frasier fan and saw the advert for the beer event so I figured why not give it a go. He was very nice to me and the other people who bought that day and after reading about Faith American on it's website, it was great to see that he has quite a lot at stake in the company.

While this wouldn't win any awards, it was a decent first go-around and with a little tweaking, could be a nice flagship beer that would be well-suited for the quiet, laid-back, and recovering area from which it originates. I'm not terribly familiar with that part of upstate New York, but the design of the label and of the website was quite beautiful and inviting and thankfully, the liquid was to a nice extent as well. Slightly hazy, apple gold in hue, and full of bubbles, this had a nice head took it's time to settle down. A decent amount of lacing was left behind with several near-rings remaining in the middle of my pint glass. Lots of apple, pear, and grain in the nose as the taste was just as fall-like, grainy, somewhat crisp, and a bit spicy. A bit of farmhouse funk gave the color it needed as this felt quite fall-like, with a bit of tingle and potato chip-like bite in the aftertaste.

Hardly any alcohol could be found here as this easily went down and was moderately slick on the palate. After all the heavier and hoppier offerings I've had lately, this was nice to relax with. It would be nice to see what else Faith American brews and if they'll try to ride any trends that other brewers in New York have embraced. So glad I was able to get a 4-pack of this - signed no less!

A: The beer is crystal clear golden yellow in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin patch of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of crystal malts are present in the nose along with faint bits of honey-like sweetness.
T: The taste follows the smell and has light flavors of crystal malts and honey. No hops are perceptible, although there is only a light amount of sweetness.
M: It feels a light- to medium-bodied and a little smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This blonde ale is very simple and easy to drink and doesn't have any real interesting aromas or flavors.

Serving type: growler
