Bought at a supermarket in Warsaw. Pours like you would expect from a Polish lager--thin, golden color, head disappears right away. Smells sweet without much malt. Tastes less sweet than some other Polish lagers, but sweet for my tastes none the less. There are no offensive smells or tastes throughout the experience and it feels light in the mouth and going down. Very carbonated beer.
This is Carlsberg's down market Polish lager, but from my experience it is just as good as any of the others. You could drink a lot of these beers without a problem (except for the carbonation).

As I last reviewed this 7 years ago, I think it deserves a re review.
I can't see much as my disco lights are on and I am too lazy to turn the light on. But the old man on the can looks friendly. I would say that it looks like a typical pilsner, lots of small bubbles, fairly average head. Aromas of slightly off malt and bananas.
Bananas also dominate the flavour, which is rare for what doesn't appear to be a wheat beer. Mouth feel is fairly thin, though the feel and taste has many different aspects and experiences. There is a distinct after effervescence on the tongue that highlights the hop bitterness.
The unpasteurized version is amazing draft, but a little yeastie and funky in a can or bottle. This version is also a little yeastie, but with less sourness and funkiness. It's a little smoother, without actually being smooth. It's actually a pretty complex flavour. I detect banana, banana peel, fermented banana, and moldy banana...mixed with some hoppy effervescence. I do like the different sensations and tastes, though as a whole it's a bit too chaotic and needs some orbo.
It's not particularly sweet or bitter or flavourome, and like Zubr is a bit everywhere. But I kind of like the chaos. Though if I have to create orbo from the chaos and choose a rating, it's a fairly low one as it's just a bit too watery and I actually don't like any of the elements much, or indeed the combined chaos. Anyway I really appreciate the friendly smile from the man on the can. Still it is much better than Warka and Carlsberg for sure. Like many Polish beers it's difficult to review as it is a highly complex chaotic abundance of banana chaos and the review depends on one's mood, how drunk one is and how sunny it is and if one is a monkey.

Pours a clear yellow, with fine, wispy head.
Smell is bready with notes of popcorn and herbs with a hint of sweetness.
Taste is bready with a slight biscuity sweetness with floral and herbal notes with a hint of citrus and mild bitterness.
Mouthfeel is thin to medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a good pale lager, easy to drink.

First impression:
High D+ (2.50) / NOT RECOMMENDED
***
Impression on-draught in Summer 2014:
HEAD: None.
BODY: Clear translucent copper of average vibrance. No yeast or sediment is visible within.
Appears adequately carbonated. Appearance is underwhelming overall.
AROMA: Stale barley (probably 6-row). Pilsner and helles malt sweetness.
No overt hoppy aromatics, alcohol, or yeasty notes.
A light aroma.
TASTE: Caramalt sweetness. Pils and helles malts. Stale 6-row.
Shallow. Average duration and intensity of flavour.
Unbalanced. Simple. Dull. Too sweet.
Lacks any subtlety whatsoever.
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, medium-bodied. Too thick, weighty, and hefty on the palate. Suits the taste okay. Overcarbonated. A bit syrupy.
OVERALL: Drinkable albeit low quality from ingredients to execution. Definitely what could be politely called a "student beer." I wouldn't get this again; it's quite poorly executed. Though to its credit, it isn't watery. The syrupy texture is the death knell here...ugh.

A kind gift from my Polish flatmate's friend's boyfriend(~~), brought straight from Warsaw. The alc. strength is tuned down to 5.7%abv. now. BB 24/01/07, served chilled in a straight imperial-pint glass.
A: light golden hue, coming with a cottony, loosely-formed white beer head, fed by lively streams of tiny fizz. Looking alright~~
S: ashy and grassy upfront, backed by a light lemony edge and corn-like grainy note, albeit not assertive. Not particularly sweet on the nose as I anticipated before opening the bottle, but the density of sweetness is there up for graps, esp. when it warms up. Pretty simplistic, though not unpleasant.
T: from the beginning the palate is overwhelmed by a mouthful of corn-ish grainy flavour and a wave of fluffy and sweet maltiness... ensued by faint hints of grassy hops and sweet lemons, but simultaneously a prevalent sugary sweetness also hovers at the back of the palate, until it turns thinly-sugary and sour in the very end. There's not much disturbing alc., but the overly sweet edge on top of the overall thin flavour profile does make it taste semi-heavy.
M&D: semi-sharp carbonated on the mouthfeel, quite thin on the palate as it goes, and the simplistic flavour really doesn't score well for a 5.7%abv. strong lager. A pretty bland offering, and I suspect a good amount of cereal adjunct is used in place of malts. But I'm grateful for my flatmate's friend's boyfriend's kind gesture all the same~~

Didn't have to write too much for this one. Pale gold, bland and sweet, pretty inofensive though, just really boring, could taste the alcohol aswell right at the end. But i guess for a thin lager its pretty hard to hide the 6.2 ABV. A lot better than other strong lagers though.
