Reviewing again as I was probably drunk last time, I thought it was amazing value but I find it hard to believe that anything owned by Carsberg is good.

Looks alive, similar to a beer from draft in a bar...small bubbles...I guess it's because it is still alive due to being unpasteurized. Aroma is mega interesting with all kinds of yeasty elements.

Taste is pretty funky. Not particularly hoppy. Mega funky and yeasty. I like the mouth feel even though it's a little thin, but the taste is kind of lemonny with elements of lemon peel and funky yeast. Unfortunatley there is nothing particularly to like about the taste, the yeasties feel like they haven't had time yet to release all of their beautiful alcohol. And the hops add bitterness without flavour. Similar to Zubr a bit and great value. From memory this is much better draft in a bar.

Not bad, just not really what I like drinking, I prefer more lightness, more alcohol and more hops!

Drunk at #Hashtag bar in Poznan (Poland).

-Almost no foam head. Translucid
-Herbal cheese smell
-Pilsener taste
-Less full bodied that one would expect for such a beer, but fairly consistent

Normal.

Poured from a 16.9 oz. can. Has a dark golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of grains, malts. Taste is mild, the same as the aroma, easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall it ain't bad, but nothing special.

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that quickly settled down, leaving a thin patch of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Faint aromas of biscuit and bready malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has notes of yeast and faint bits of bitterness from the underlying hops.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and very smooth on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The aroma and taste of this lager won't blow you away but the beer is easy to drink.

From the large can, it pours a clear yellow golden color with a large head. Grainy scent in the nose. In the mouth, clean, but grainy flavor profile. Typical European Pale Lager.

Look - Mid golden colour. Nice full head and good lacing.
Smell - Faint smell of hops with hint of malt (after a while). It wasn't too aromatic, maybe because it was from the can?
Taste - Decent bitterness like for pale lager, but not too powerful, refreshing, crisp.
Feel - Quite full like for lager, very pleasant. Being unpasteurized gives an extra depth.
Overall - Good lager. Maybe not the best on the market, but very solid. Very satisfactory experience. Unpasteurized type always is a welcome choice. Recommended.

Kasztelan Unpasteurized has a medium, white head, a clear, bubbly, golden appearance, and some glass lacing. The aroma is of grassy hop & cracker, and the flavor is similar with mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is almost high medium, and Kasztelan Unpasteurized finishes crisp.

I recently took a trip up to NYC for the weekend & while there, I made a side trip to Brighton Beach. If you have never been, it is full-on Eastern European & Russian with a host of imported foods & drinks on offer, including CANs of beer for The CANQuest (tm) & Kvass! I am often scoffed at for my interests, but I know what I like.

From the CAN: "Unpasteurized"; "Only natural ingredients: water, barley malt, two-row barley, hops. BEER."; "Where did the taste of Kasztelan emerge? In Sierpc - a land with mild climate and fertile soils that has been famous for agriculture and exceptional conditions for local brewing. Nature was generous with Sierpc, but it was the brewers who brought out the best from it. Combination of their experience and natural ingredients gives Kasztelan the taste of honestly brewed beer."

I beCAN with a Crack! of the vent to kick things off. I followed this with a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into my awaiting glass. It returned the favor by quickly forming just under two fingers of fizzy, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with moderate retention. Color was Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had a bready maltiness, but at least there were no off-putting adjuncts, like corn in evidence. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, not watery, but not far beyond it, either. The taste was mostly malty sweet with just a hint of hoppy bitterness. Finish was semi-dry & very refreshing on yet another hot, hazy, humid Summer's day. My numbers appear to be high, but in reviewing to style, it was actually quite good. It may also have had some thing to do with its serving style in that it held up better in a CAN. Dunno.
