From the 12 oz can in a snifter, This solid brew from the brewery
(Thanks Bluejacket for getting us there!) pours a nice dark murky
brownish black with a nice head of tan foam that subsides to a thick
ring, thin light layer, and sports some nice lacing. Nose of dark roasted malts,
char, nutty malts, and subtle dark fruits. Flavors follow but expand on the nose.
Dark roasted malts, char, dark fruit notes of black and blueberry, dark breaded
malts, and nutty malt notes with a touch of herbal hops. Nice mouth feel; medium
full verging on full body, smooth, rich, lightly coating, and finishing subtly
dry.
Overall---excellent!
Cheers

Can was quite soft to the touch before opening. When I opened this there was nothing but the can crack. This beer has almost no carbonation and is the downfall of this beer. The look is dark brown with minor tan ring around the edge. I attribute this to the heavy pour. Smells like coffee and chocolate with sweetness. Taste is a syrupy coffee chocolate jawn. With no carbonation this really does a poor service to the beer. Really ugly body here. Guessing if properly carbonated this would be a passable beer. Overall this is a fail. All three of the four pack have line this and the fourth can has the same soft feel to it. I reached out to the brewery and they told me they would be sending me a replacement pack. Still waiting many many months later, I no longer get a reply from them so I’m out 100% on buying their beer. Oh well, life goes on and I support other breweries now.

12 ounce can, canned on AUG 28 2020, ABV says 8.0%. Purchased at the brewery last weekend. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with almost an inch tan head that stuck around a little while. Small amount of lacing. I like the aroma a lot, the brew smells mostly like coffee, along with some roasted malt and dark chocolate. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some dark breadiness and some burnt/charred flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and a bit coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this a lot, but I did prefer it on tap. Either way, it's certainly worth trying if you get the chance to.

I'm trying this at the brewery. It poured an opaque dark with no head and no lace. The scent had strong coffee notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with roast coffe presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.
