Poured from a 12 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Cloudy/unfiltered dark golden pour with big fluffy white head. Great retention and lacing.

S: Biscuity grains and big juicy hops. Mango and citrus.

T.F: Just like it smells. Strong toasted grains and juicy hops. Big tangerine, mango, and grapefruit rind. Citrus and juice with a bit of the trademark Stone bite (although far from harsh). Just a hint of west coast pine, and although a mix of styles this favors the NEIPA and Stone nails it. Medium bodied and well carbonated.

O: An outstanding DIPA. This is one of the better new IPA's that Stone has put out recently. Will definitely be enjoying another.

Super juicy looking orange, guava color with a nice head. Aroma is absolutely fabulous. The taste is great. The fruity citrus flavor blend is well done. Very tasty and good mouthfeel. Overall? I’ll be having another. On tap at What’s On Tap in North Richland Hills.

5 oz pour on tap. This is an extremely solid mass-produced (D)NEIPA. Huge citrus and tropical fruit aromas and flavors to go along with a slight grassy dankness and some wheatiness. Mouthfeel is soft, full, and has just a hint of the 8.5% abv. Overall this is surprisingly good. I guess not all Stone IPAs are the same...

"According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Viking Space Probe is an unfiltered double IPA that will clock in at 8.5 percent ABV brewed with both Citra and Ella hops." This is NOT a New England IPA.

Stone's best entry into the NE-hazy IPA arena!! So juicy..hoppy goodness! Had on draft, it looked like an ultra cloudy orange can almost taste it!!!

16oz draft

Picked this IPA because it wasn’t labeled east coast, though this is still hazy, sigh.

Pours a finger of fluffy white head into a tall tulip. Fades somewhat quickly. Initial lacing looks great. Body is orange juice.

Mango, very light citrus, creamy. Somewhat underwhelming. But smells good enough

Taste is quite juicy, a little too much. Cut a little bit by some tart rind. Some bitterness at the end, but not a lot of traditional hop flavors. Has a nice yeast kick at the end though. Fills your mouth up as well, there is a fair amount of flavor. I'm going back and forth on this one, but I think I like it, the juiciness gets cut by some of the other characteristics.

Mouthfeel is super nice, this is a damn chewy beer. Dances on the palate as well. However the carbonation is on the lower side. Bitterness is noticeable.

Drinkability is very high for a 8.5% beer.

Appearance turned out good. Head was whatever, but I suppose the pour wasn't anything special to begin with. Lacing is a little patchy, but quite nice overall.

Overall a nice beer, a little too juicy for me, but it does have some tart rind and bitterness to help balance it a little bit.
