Poured into a weizen glass, received a large white head that retained well and laced well as it was drank. I let it settle for a few minutes and noticed some very small particles in the bottom of the glass that looked like spices (interesting).
The aroma at fist note was of Bannana, Clove and Bread. Second sniff detected a small amount of citrus Hops.
The taste was no suprize after the aroma 1st was the bannanas, then cloves, followed by the yeast and cleansing hops. Yum! I thought there was a hint of peppers but very little in the after taste.
The feel was thin to medium but seems right for this style, refreshing and nice.
Overall this is a very drinkable beer, could do several glasses on the patio, and it is a medium low ABV.

Decanted from a porcelain capped bottle into a 16.9 oz (500 ml) into a tasting pint; mindestens haltbar bis (best before): L125I054, reportedly May 5, 2018.
A: Pours a cloudy brown color with a three to four finger, egg shell white head, really nice retention, but limited lacing.
S: Aromas of caramel, toffee, honey, and cocoa.
T: Sweet. Flavors largely follow the nose, although definitely a cola element. Bitterness present but in the background.
M: Medium bodied with moderate to high effervescence.
O: Very, very enjoyable. Rated on the second try (2/1/2019), which explains the disparity in dating.

Poured from a brown 16.9 oz. bottle. Has a chestnut color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of banana, cloves, wheat. Taste is banana, bubble gum, light cloves, apples at the finish. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a refreshing and pretty good beer.

3/22...pours hazy rusty orange. Clear at the bottom. 1/4 inch white foam. Soft wheaty nose, some banana. Very thin taste, firm carbonation. Very watery. Not much depth of flavor.

Swing top bottle.
Hazy amber with a weak head despite medium carbonation.
Medium body.
Aroma is largely that of a regular hefe but the darker malts show clearly in the flavor.

1pt .9 fl oz brown bottle with flip top
Kaiser Brau Veldensteiner Dunkles WeiBbier has a dark rust color and light cloudy body. An off-white 2-finger foamy head was formed as it filled my weizen glass. The head showed good retention as consumed. Unfortunately, the appearance is the best part of this ale. The nose was light, a little roasty and sweet. The taste was almost watered down, with flavors of roasted malt and a little nutty. The mouth feel was very too. It was thin and watery for the style.
Overall, there are much better German Dunkelweizens - sorry to say I was disappointed and will not revisit.
