The first edition of our Session 47 Series, Baby Daddy IPA is sunny straw in color and loaded with hops. The aroma and flavor yield citrus and tropical notes: grapefruit, melon, lime, passion fruit, and a touch of spice will delight your palate. Baby Daddy IPA has a full balanced body, with a crisp finish and low bitterness. It’s an ideal choice for long afternoons with friends.

Had this during the Giants bus trip in September 2015. Had this at that bar on the pier, from the can. Cool design of some brass knuckles and a pacifier on the front.
Pours a slightly darker SRM than most session ales, this is dark gold and light amber kind of color, with 2/3" white head. Even though there are Citra hops, the nose is mostly the classic C hop notes of grapefruit and pine.
Taste offers up a little more variety beyond the pine and grapefruit, there is a hint of a brisk pepper and lime note in minimalistic fashion. The body is where its at, its really dry and light, helps accentuate and get a hint of melon and plenty of zestiness from the barley body and ample carbonation. I like it because it takes those classical Cascade, Centennial and Chinook notes and pumps them through a classic dry body. One of my favorite Speakeasy beers. I think this is a good offering if you're in the mood for a session ale with classic C hops.

can to pint glass.
Hoppy, pine, heavy citrus.
All the good IPA stuff. Very little of the bad IPA stuff.
Yellow, medium white head. Above avg. Carbonation.

This is a nice solid session IPA. I had never heard of Speakeasy before but the can was cool, so I thought "let's judge the book by the cover" and bought a six pack. It pours a nice orangey-yellow haze. There is very little head foam on it. The smell is light on the citrus and fruit. The taste is instantly very citrusy, with notes of orange peel, lemon, and and lime zest; very very nice balance. This is a great session IPA and I'm glad I gave this a try. The perfect summer crusher!

A - Sunburst orange with off white head
S - Zesty, herbal/hay, musk stick
T - Very herbal, lemon
M - Medium-full body but a dry finish
O - Not at all what I expected. I'm reviewing this in Australia and can't rule out spoilage due to shipping, but this isn't the tropical fruit cup I was hoping for.

355ml can poured into a pint glass.
Hazy dull orange brass color, it tops with massive glorious white head that stays with remarkable retention before slowly sinking to an eternal sudsy layer atop and leaving plenty of lacing patch. The head is so creamy and silky and it doesn’t go anywhere until the last sip.
In a nose, light citrus, grapefruit, lime, pineapple, tropical, floral, some spice, some piney resin, and biscuity malt.
The taste is like what reflects in the aroma with light citrus, grapefruit, lime, tropical fruit, some spice, some piney resin, grass, and sweet biscuity malt. Hop bitterness is low and quite clean.
Light body with good crispness and lively carbonation through the palate, rather smooth mouthfeel, the feeling is refreshing with a dry and rather clean finish.
Crisp, refreshing, balance, and sessionable but not that juicy or fruity, maybe I got one that is not fresh (no best before detail).

DATE: January 15, 2017... OCCASION: watching AFV with the family... GLASS WARE: Howard’s Pub pint... light, bright, yellowish and hazy body that sports appropriately baby-sized bubbles throughout... head is white, cloudy, creamy at a quarter-inch... for a sessions ale, vibrant, punchy lemon zest, vanilla, light cracker... sips are rapid, slick, wet--inviting and light-bodied, but doesn’t evacuate before ... not much of an aftertaste, but a toasted maltiness is discernible... a nice cirrus sky is painted as the glass drains... lemon grass, slight pine, vanilla, toasted bread, and west coast wet hop makes for an ale that, at 4.7% ABV, invites sip after sip without concern... I struggle with the idea that this is an IPA, though--wouldn't calling this a pale be more suitable? overall, a fair pairing with the other Speakeasy offerings...
