I think this is essentially a Trader Joe's brand so it is relatively economical. The aroma is very nice and very hoppy. The taste, however, is not very hoppy at all. This is not particularly a problem. The effect though is more of a watered-down taste instead of a nice mellow taste.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with ahalf finger white head with great retention and lacing. Light aroma of bready and biscuit malt with citrus and lightly piney hops. Looks and smells pretty good. Flavor follows aroma with biscuit malt, citrus hops with mild piney and grassy elements. Finishes with a hint of pine resin and citrus hops. Medium bodied. Decided to try the remaining Mission St. ales because of a rumored change in brewers for Trader Joes. Glad I tried this one. I expect good, but not notable ales from these inexpensive house beers, but this one is darn good for the price. If pale ales were a style I drank a lot, I'd have no hesitation to buying this regularly. A pleasant surprise.
