An aggressive pour down the sides of a half liter glass mug yields a bubbly, bright white two-finger head. The brew is a hazy amber color with a pink undertone and active carbonation maintaining a thin layer of foam.

The smell of raspberries is easily detected in the flowery, incense-like hop aroma. When sipped, a taste something akin to Jasmine flowers is up front, with just a hint of sweet raspberry in the middle palate, mellowed by cereal grain. This is followed by a smattering of bitter hops and a lingering tart raspberry essence.

Not too sweet like some fruit beers, and worth recommending to those who appreciate the style.

I know some folks were not too impressed by this beer, but not expecting much when I tried it, I actually found it to be rather enjoyable. 2007 release

appearance, pours a rosy pink with a tiny bubbled head that disappeared at a center at a medium pace, but clung to the edges of the glass.
smelled sweet like candy and also like a doughy Belgian waffle with raspberry topping.
tasted creamy with an ever so slight tartness followed by sweetness. the raspberry's really stood out in the finish and upon exhaling.
mouth feel was thin, but smooth. this was a very drinkable beer. it just reminded me of what i'd call a breakfast beer. so sunday morning i enjoyed one with my curry scrambled eggs and home fries.

A- Pale pink with a quickly disappearing head and no lacing
S- Smells basically of raspberries and banana/clove
T- Tastes pretty much like it smells
M- Thin and not much complexity, high carbonation
D- eh..not repulsive but not great..light body would lend itself to decent drinkability..

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass.

A: Crystal clear pale yellow with a pink hue. Yes, pink. Very thin head at the pour that disappeared in seconds. No lacing.

S: Sweet, fruity raspberry. Almost smells like a Kool-Aid packet.

T: Sweetness tackles the palate quickly with an almost soda pop impression. The raspberry flavor is definitely there but this stuff just doesn't taste like beer to me. It more closely resembles a fruity malt beverage. There is an interesting smoky aftertaste at the swallow - it doesn't really add or detract from the experience, but it is interesting.

M&D: Mouthfeel is sort of like mostly flat soda pop. The carbonation is light and fades fast. Although it isn't cloying with sweetness, you still sort of expect it to coat the tongue. I'm not sure how to describe it. Finish isn't entirely clean and there wasn't any significant bitterness that I could detect at all.

I really wanted to like this stuff but the experience lessened with each pull. I'm not even sure what target style they were after when they made it. Anyway, it's worth trying for the experience once but I don't know that I would go looking for it again.

12 ounce brown bottle, showing no freshness indication. Pours a softly cloudy light tangerine tone, minor pinkish white tiny bubble head and some sticky lacing left behind. Nose is the expected fruity sweet stuff. It swell like fuity lifesavers candy. This is a sweet, fruity ale. Raspberry flavor is subtle and not over powering. Pleasing slight dryness in the finish. Nice summer beer or with dessert. Worth a try for fruit beer enjoyers. Good to try on the fairer sex and/or with newbies.

The beer pours a hazy golden color with a white head. The aroma is heavy on the raspberry with some biscuit malt mixed in. The flavor is definitely heavy on the fruit. I get a lot of sweet, syrupy raspberry with a tad bit of biscuit malt. The fruit tastes a bit artificial and is not that well done. Thin to medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Good golden color, solid carbonation and white head, lasts. Light, faint smell of raspberries, the color on the bottle makes me imagine something synthetic and medicinal about it though.

Way too sweet, a totally non enjoyable taste. Maybe if you're one of those alternative lifestyle types who like gueze, but I don't swing that way. Stays thin, kinda hot for this kind of beer. Nothing I'd like to have again, pricey as well. Pass.

Beer man Dan put's it pretty well definitely a glorified malt beverage. Appearance is slightly pink hazed golden hue with a vibrant quickly fleeting white head leaves behind specks of scattered lacing. Aroma strong chemical smelling raspberry tone they claim it's juice but this sent is screaming extract. Taste has a sharp acidity to it between the wheat and raspberry "juice" it puts me off immediately. Lacks balance or any other substantial wit flavors horrible offering at least the others were pretty good, 3 outta 4 aint' bad. Mouthfeel is sticky with residual sugars in this syrupy extract like creation doesn't come together well carbonation is spritzy. Drinkability is definitely cloying early on in the drinking experience I would steer away and I plan to myself.

I was looking forward to trying this after loving the Celis White and also enjoying very much the Grand Cru. This was a bit of a letdown. The label says that it is a malt beverage with raspberry juice added. That should have been my first sign of things to come. The beer poured an orange color with a slight off white head. The aroma was a bit muted but with some vanilla tones, not my raspberry. The taste was more of the same. You can taste a touch of raspberry but it is not very evident and the vanilla taste is almost syrupy and not overly enjoyable.

Started off with a light orangey color, with a bit of a pinkish color to the quickly dissipating head. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there.
The aroma immediately let me know something was off with this beer. It was very strong, but in an off-putting way. The aroma was mainly raspberry, but something was strange about it. Ah! Vanilla! That's what it is. The vanilla really throws me for a loop.
The flavor. Hmm, the best way I can describe it is when you add one of those flavored syrups to your coffee, and you put a pump or two too many in there, it throws off the balance.
The label says "Malt Beverage with Raspberry Juice Added," and I guess that describes it, but it's not a good thing. I really like their Celis White, but this just didn't do it for me.

12 oz. bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: A peachy orange body with a quickly fading offwhite head and not much lacing at all.

Smell: Faint raspberry syrup and a bit of hops. Not much there and turns out to smell pretty fake.

Taste: Hmm, kind of cloying and sugary and syrupy. The finish, once the residual sugars dissipate, is slightly juicy and decent, but it takes a while to get there.

Mouthfeel: Pretty cloying and full without being too pleasurable.

Drinkability: I really haven't found a fruit beer that I've been a huge fan of, and this is added to the list. I unfortunately have five more bottles left. Not the worst experience in the world, but I'm not excited for the other bottles that are left.

12oz bottle, served in a standard pint glass

A - pours with a thin layer of loose white foam which quickly falls to a film and small ring. the beer is hazy, pale gold in color.

S - "fake" raspberry syrup, sweet and medicinal. some wheat and light light beneath.

T - tastes like raspberry filling in pop-tarts or something...lacking that nice fresh tartness that makes the fruit appealing at all. sweet all the way through with a bright sugary kick at the end.

M - light body with slightly tight and lively carbonation. kind of sticky from the sweetness.

D - meh. fake fruit beer at its finest? ill pass.

Fiery orange/rust with reddish tint, small cap of foam that thins to a crown quickly. Not much lace at all.

Raspberry is obvious in the nose, but also something like fruit skins, mostly apple but some other berry varieties. A sweetness like cake frosting, cake batter or flavored bubblegum. Real nice.

More cake batter in flavor, with raspberry as the main fruit (ya think?). Enough malty sweetness that it's not one-dimensional, but it loses its appeal after the first couple impressive sips.

Soft, buttery texture is nice and goes well with the cake batter character (was more carbonated at first, but I'm reviewing it now as just barely below room temperature). Only a mild tartness in the finish, and not as puckering as many other fruit beers.

Not bad at all. I miss the Belgian-ness that this seems to boast. Yeast is muted here, in every category, and a yeasty presence would've been the thing to help this sit with the big boys (as would've more malt and more fruit). But it's enjoyable enough and worth a shot, just nothing I'm anxious to return to.

I drank this one out of the bottle while moving to my new apartment, so I can't tell you anything about the appearance. Bad form I know, but what are ya gonna do? It was cold, contains alcohol, and I was thirsty.

Smells a little ourdoorsy and barnyardy with a hint of raspberry.

This actually doesn't taste all that much like raspberry in my oppinion. I taste mainly grassy outdoorsy falvors along with a nice whit type flavor.

This one is nothing special. My girlfriend likes it, but I think that it has more in common with a wine cooler than a beer. It does remind me of a nice whit, so I can't say that it's all bad, but I don't think I would go for this again.

Pours a clear orange goldish color with a fizzy white head. Smell is raspberries, coriander and cloves. Taste is spiced heavily with cloves and subtle raspberries. There is a good balance between the raspberries and the strong clove character. Mouthfeel is lighter in body....good carbonation. Great for the summertime. Drinkable for the most part.

Light orange-gold in color with a thin white head that vanishes before your eyes.

Smell is overwhelmingly raspberry...too much fruit scent for my liking.

The taste isn't as bad as the smell. You pick up the subtle sweetness of the wheat, then the tart berry flavor kicks in.

In the mouth, there is an acidic burn from the fruit in the finish.

This beer is too scented and lack too much beer flavor to be drinkable; I'm not sure I can finish the one I started.

Well, it certainly smells nice, but this became the first of 3 "Michigan Raspberry" beers I tried in one day that were kind of a letdown. This had a pale pink cast to it that detracted from the nice berry nose. Can't say I see much Belgian in it, and sorry to say it's close to a Leinenkugel Berry Weiss.
Being as most of the Celis production goes back to Texas, which restrictions on how beer should be labeled, I would be uncertain about the label referring to it as a "malt beverage with natural flavors." Actually had this bottle right at the brewery taphouse; they brought it out because it was off the taps. The manager told us this is the beer that the bikers always get when they roll by.

An above average brew that was abit different. Pours a light cranberry with minimal head and lacing. Smell is a pleasant blend of raspberries and light wheat...a definite warm weather type brew. Taste was similarly a gentle mix of raspberries and wheat..not great...but not bad either. Mouthfeel is light with a pleasant dry finish. Easy enough on the drinkability scale..overall not a bad brew.

This is a very light beer, not too sweet and doesn't have a lot of syrup body to it that you may expect from a raspberry beer. It has a nice light amber color, almost a light pink color that holds very little head retention. The nose is light as well, but it smells sweet with vanilla being more powerful of a smell than the raspberry, but the rasberry is there. It's a very light and clean beer with no residuals left. It also smells like a belgian. By that I mean you can smell the belgian candi smell with this beer. It's a decent beer and good for summer time but nothing I would go out and buy a case of.

BBD: 6/23/11, Last one on the shelf.

Reddish orange color, hazy like a witbier, with a fingers width of white foam. Lasting skim, retention is above average, leaving spotty streaks of lace randomly in the glass.

Faint raspberry and sugar cookie aroma, though not overly sweet.

Faintly tart raspberry in the taste also, some dusty sweet candy wafer and sugar cookie again. Moderate carbonation, thin bodied. Pretty middle of the road stuff. Thankfully not overly sweet or syrupy, though it's fruit character doesn't come across as especially authentic either

12 ounce bottle, date on bottle says 4/1/2008. I'm not sure if this is a bottling date or a best by date. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a weird dark gold/pink color with an inch white head. Head retention and lacing are both low. The aroma is raspberries (more like syrup then fresh raspberries) and candy sugar. It doesn't smell bad at all, but then I like raspberries a lot too. Taste is the same as the aroma, like sugar and raspberry candy/syrup. There's more of an artificial raspberry taste than anything else. Mouthfeel/body is light, and it's not watery. Drinkability is OK, not awful but not exactly good either. Overall it's an average beer, but it's not as good as other raspberry and fruit beers I've had. With that being said, I wouldn't turn down one of these but I wouldn't go out of my way to seek it out either.
