I like this. Appearance was a hazy yellow/clear with a one inch head that settled to a thin layer. Smell was a little citrusy and zesty. Taste was light and smooth with a bit of fruit and spice. Very refreshing. Medium mouthfeel and smooth-n-easy drinkablity. Give me a few of these while doing yardwork.

I drank this from a pint glass...

The beer is white/ yellow with a fluffy white head. It smells of a musty fruity apple-ish aroma when wheat and orange. The taste is big on wheat, lemon, banana and clove, with a slight bubblegum aftertaste. The beer is light and refreshing, lots of soft carbonation and a dry finish. This is a solid wit, it's expected that it is similar to Hoegaarden, but there is a slight but pleasant twist.

Consumed at Steingarten, Los Angeles, CA on February 25th, 2012.

Beer is a clear, lemony yellow with a fine, one finger white head. Moderate sheeting.

Aromas of banana, lemon, coriander.

Palate follows nose with addition of some grassiness. No bitterness.

Well carbonated, some prickle on tongue.

Goes down smooth and easy; a great hot weather beer.

A: Pours a slightly hazy straw/yellow. A large pillowing and fluffy head forms a sticks around for a bit. Light lace is left behind.
S: Musky and funky hey aroma. Some yeast, banana, and citrus aromas.
T: Banana and clove with some citrus flavors. Some doughy malt. Not very complex, but enjoyable.
M/D: A medium body. Well carbonated and creamy. A very easy witbier to drink. This is something that I could session.

A really good Witbier. I am usually not a fan of this style, though I if I had more of this quality that would change. I wish I could of tried this when it was the Celis Brewery in Austin though.

Celis White has a cloudy body that is somewhere between dull yellow and dull gold. The white head is large and solid looking, with a rocky top. The retention is solid, and ample lacing is left behind.

The aroma has a good bit of wheat to it, with notes of fruit and a hint of pepper. Pretty traditional and quite nice.

This beer is a well-made white. The wheat probably provides the most flavor for this one, with notes of bread and a little bit of twang. Orange and lemon both make an appearance, but without adding any sweetness. Coriander and general peppery flavors are more powerful in the flavor than the aroma. A hint of green apple comes through from the yeast in the finish.

Very smooth from the carbonation, with a substantial feel to the body.

This beer was left behind in my fridge after having some people over, so I didn't really have any expectations for it. I am glad that I tried it, because it turned out to be a well made witbier.

Pours a light yellow, off orange color with a white thick and fluffy head that dies down to leave a thin white head. Smell is orange peel, clove, spices. Taste is similar to smell with wheat and spices, as well as some coriander also. Light carbonation makes this a light and very nice refreshing drink on a hot day.

Okay, okay. So that thing I said about the last wit I had being the last of the season wasn't so true.

Pours a clouded yellow with athin white head. Nose is like popcorn. Minus the buttera and salt of course. Citrus is there as well. It's present in the flavor, but guess what else is there. Popcorn again! Ha! That's a new one. Overall though it's a nice earthy citrus mix. Quite citrus forward really. Feel has a fairly full and biting carbonation. Liquid is typical for the style. This is a good witbier. A spot on interpretation IMO.

This beer pours out with a hazy golden straw-like color with a thick creamy head that is very well retained. The aroma is a nice combination of wheat malt, coriander and hints of orange. The taste is much like the aroma with has a tangy wheat finish. The spices are nicely balanced with the wheat malt. It has a creamy, smooth medium body with moderately high carbonation.

Overall, this is a very nice witbier. It's very reminiscent of Hoegaarden, but this makes sense as it's endorsed and (supposedly) formulated by Mr. Celis himself. It's quite a wonderful summer beer.

Clear pineapple juice yellow with a firm starchy white capping of half an inch height. Fades slowly to a large collar and whisps of spotty lacing are minimal across the glass.

Aroma is sticky of lemon coated soft breads with a stint of banana and clove.

Taste is crisp and tangy upfront with a quick tangle of the tongue with a danse of firm lemon and snappy wheat. Just past midway it gets a smoother envelopement of creamier wheat and banana tones. Ends with another tang of returned lemon and wheat. Quite tangy, rich, and bouncy overall.

Feel is about medium with a strong tang of lemony wheatyness that really grabs hold for good length. Snappy, smooth, and tangy rich with a certian ease to its glide.

A pretty decent Wit. Surprisingly lengthy with a good tone and body of tang. Drinks down just fine.

Served in the 12 oz. bottle into a goblet. The color is a hazy golden, with a wispy white head. The smell is a heavily spiced wheat. The taste is very heavily spiced wheat..a lot of corriander with a good bit of citrusy tartness as well. Mouthfeel is well-carbed. As for drinkability, could have a few.

Thanks to trbeer for the bottle. A solid wit, especially for those who like the heavily spiced wits, and a nice tribute to a true beer innovator. Quite good, and certainly one I hope to get again!

Pours a light, seethru orange with small head and little carbonation. A good lemon zest along with other citric fruit smells (orange, banana peel) and some clove and minor pepperiness. Orange and lemon combine with some clove and pepper with wheat and some sweet malts for a relatively medium-bodied wit that also contains a little hop prickle on the backend. Goes down smooth and creamy with mild sweetness, and holds true to the style. Not the best wit I've had, but still pretty good.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy yellow, typical for a witbier, with a nice head. Head doesn't have the fluffiness of Hoegaarden or Allagash, but still looks good.

Aroma: Coriander, orange, the wheat. Typical for the style.

Taste: Pretty good, the spices from the coriander are apparent and the orange goes through as well. Overall this is a good beer. The beer is a little bitter in the end going down, and goes down smooth. A little different than Hoegaarden and Allagash, but not in a bad way.

Mouthfeel: Crisper than most wits, its got a bit of a bite to it. The feel isn't as creamy as it is in other wits either. But the crispness is refreshing and does give a nice bite that I approve of.

Drinkability: Refreshing and crisp, light, good flavors, overall a good example of a witbier. Good for a hot day, and a nice beer to have just to enjoy.

A special thanks to HardTarget for this great suggestion and lovely brew.

Appearance: pours a hazy straw yellow with a beautiful amber glow. The carbonation is champagne-like as it cascades up the glass.

Smell: A very refreshing, spring-like blend of spice and citrus beckon me to quaff this yummy looking brew.

Taste: A refreshing wheat bread-like taste with a citrus after taste. I'm guessing the one taste that I can't identify is coriander but I'll have to rob a spice rack before I know what it's supposed to taste like.

Mouthfeel: Effervescent, light and very refreshing!

Drinkability: An elegant and complex ale that witbier that went down very quickly and made my grilling so much more enjoyable.

Thanks again to HardTarget for that one!
